Well to be honest in these situations we will often times make very little or nothing. You keep the units moving, cover the customer and work on the next profitable load. If you want to truly succeed, you can not look at a p & l on every load. You have to focus in the big picture and the long tern.
Rex, it's not always "getting", it's taking the time to put the rate on the plate of the shipper to "git r done" and see if they chose to go that direction. This biz is not always black and white there newb.
Yes i'm sure you do. Maybe tho, you should ask the Hawk just how much you don't know. He went thru this same thing a few years ago. He might be able to splain some tings to you.

Wow...I never picked that up. Maybe we should all yell "AT EASE!" when you come into a room....LOL Glad you don't go around the office banging on a garbage can at 4am. LOLFormer E6 US Army Infantry drill Sergeant myself!
Mr. Elliot,
My husband and I have been reading this thread since it's beginning. We are very impressed with your interaction with everyone here and how you are so quick to respond.
We are wondering if you are strict on your experience level for your drivers. We have visted your website for more information on your company and found the experience level you are looking for. We don't meet it as of yet.
I can tell you we are willing to run as hard as possible. We have currently been in the truck for over a month without going home. We do plan to go home for a week during the holiday though.
We have a straight tuck that the owner would be willing to move where it is leased, for us. We are new and have only been driving for over a month now. I know that it is very new. But we have learned a lot in that month. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Just curious. What ever happened to the facility you were opening in SC?
Mr. Elliot,
I was wondering if one of the exceptions allowed would be driving a school bus. I drove school bus for 5 years and bus for the Board of DD in my home town. I also drove dump truck for a short time. My husband just got his CDL this August though.
USMC 6 years, E5 twice, me and officers didn't get along. Special Forces, pre Delta team stuff. But that's another story. We'll have to have a cup of Joe together and swap war stories. Army is ok, trained quite a few of them, took longer tho. Lol
Hey RoadKing,
Probably better to give Brian Welsh a call in Recruiting. He could answer any and all your questions that you may have.
His number is 800.506.4422
Hope that helps
