John, that is why the word Many is there.

I understand a lot of the customer base does care to a point but not all of them. Maybe you will agree that it all depends on what is being hauled and how many of us derive our work - Load-1 being excluded.

Many of us don't get true expedited freight, but more or less freight from a shipper who wants/needs it moved with it happening more often than not we get freight that has a self-imposed time limit by the carrier to move it regardless who the customer is as part of their overall brand strategy.

This goes back to a point that a lot of freight is handed off through brokers and even some generated by the companies represented here, not mentioning who. Some of it is captured as a normal part of doing business, and seem to be part of the problem and not a real solution for the company with the company cashing in on every or any step they can.

I do agree with a number of your points. I think it is important to maintain a good fleet size. When I say good size, I think that you need to keep your asset side in a certain ratio with your non-asset side. We have both the brokerages and the fleet. Yes, a lot of business is derived in the third party relationships between carriers. The alliance, and TEANA are good examples of where these relationships are built.

What do you think the ratio is between the loads you get from the alliance and NLM? Just curious, coming from a predominately alliance-oriented company, where NLM was used as a gap-filler.

Hawk,

You are asking the percentage difference between total alliance carriers freight we haul versus NLM?

Actually I would like to know the percentage between the two.

Well I will have to run some reports tomorrow to give you the numbers. I will have to take a look at it. At some point we border on corporate vs. public information, lol.
