It's nice to see all the smiling faces at Load One:D. After a 25 month sabbatical I returned to Bolt Express this week. Went into service @ 14:30 on Tuesday. Received first load offer at 16:30. Finished my last this morning at 1 Am about 140 miles from my little shack, so here I am at home. Four loads, 1,393 loaded miles, 236 DH. $1,236.97 for my first four days back. Fortunately I'm easy to please.;)

Yup, I did 1400 miles this week with total pay right around 1258. My rate per mile is right at 90 cents this week.

Not a bad week considering the fact that I spent all day Tuesday and Wednesday hunkered down ina hotel room fighting a respiratory infection.

1400 miles in 4 days of service isn't bad at all.

As of right now I am averaging $1.01 a loaded mile with just under 13% DH and $.89 CPM all miles...All I can say is MONEY is not an issue here at Load-1 :D An by the way they aren't hiring anymore cargo vans or sprinters only straights...
Darn it, you mean there is no room for me now!! lol

Good company with some really good people. Ben the President and Sandy the Exec VP are both stand up guys. I am sure they are glad to have you back on the road for them!

Long days in the saddle can bother more than just your knees. I got a kick out of the way this cowboy dealt with his painful sunburned lips:
An old cowhand came riding into town on a hot, dry, dusty day. The local sheriff watched from his chair in front of the saloon as the cowboy wearily dismounted and tied his horse to the rail a few feet in front of the sheriff.
"Howdy, stranger."
"Howdy, Sheriff."
The cowboy then moved slowly to the back of the horse, lifted his tail and placed a big kiss where the sun don't shine. He dropped the horse's tail, stepped up on the walk, and aimed towards the swing doors of the saloon.
"Hold on there, Mister," said the Sheriff. "Did I just see what I think I saw?"
"Reckon you did, Sheriff. I got me some powerful chapped lips."
"And does that cure them?" the Sheriff asked.
"Nope, but it keeps me from lickin' 'em.:D

this ain't on topic really but does lead to honesty...

Summer is pretty much over and the kids are back in school. The kids are getting acquainted with their teachers and the teachers are trying to learn about their new students. Remember all those “What I Did This Summer” papers you used to have to write at the beginning of the school year? A friend sent me this story that some of the kids around here can relate to:

Our teacher asked us what our favorite animal was, and I said, "Fried chicken." She said I wasn't funny, but she couldn't have been right, ‘cause everyone else in the class laughed.
My parents told me to always be truthful and honest, and I am. Fried chicken is my favorite animal. I told my dad what happened, and he said my teacher was probably a member of PETA. He said they love animals very much. I do, too. Especially chicken, pork and beef.
Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's office. I told him what happened, and he laughed too. Then he told me not to do it again.
The next day in class my teacher asked me what my favorite live animal was. I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, just like she'd asked the other children. So I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken. She sent me back to the principal's office again. He laughed, and told me not to do it again.
I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn't like it when I am. Today, my teacher asked us to tell her what famous person we admire most.
I told her, "Colonel Sanders".
Guess where I am now...

I'm watching very closely, and impressed of what I see and hear as far as he whole picture goes at Load One.I am really wanting to be home more, and stay relatively closer to home as time progresses. I do hear the sound of a changed and happy man in OVM's voice since he has changed, all kidding aside.

Looking to get out of Michigan and into Ohio or Indiana?:D

I'm already doing dedicated runs from Indiana to Ohio and back. I just wonder what he pays for the Canadian stuff because I am willing to go there too.

The think I am tired of is Indiana, it used to be a great state to travel in but because of a business reason, I don't have ezpass on the truck and pay tolls with cash. Coming out of the east gate on Indiana's toll road, they took the toll people out and are forcing us to use the "automated" system. It is great to sit there for 5 minutes trying to get the little ticket read and then paying is a whole 'nother experience - depending on the unit, it may not like the crisp 10s and 20s that you put into it and other times they short change you with them d*mn dollar coins that they won't take in the machines in the first place.

Ok..just 1 example..

I picked up a load the other night that I also did with my former carrier...exact same load....

454 loaded miles...10 lb box..the difference was...

$163.44  That IS huge for a CV...HUGE..

.81 vs $1.17 now you tell me?

I would have to drive another 201.77 miles to make the same money.
Yep..more fuel, more wear and tear on my Sprinter..
to make the same money...does NOT make sense..

Yep..."Rising to the Challenge" a "dime at a time"
