I was sitting here thinking about earnings this month. Lay over pay has had a huge impact on my checks. I realize john does not need to offer that to compete with other carriers out there. I cannot thank John enough for going beyond the norm and offering such a program! Load 1 rocks!

I agree its an awesome program and one John doesn't need to offer, but it certainly can be a benefit.

That being said, how many "always" use it when you can? This has been talked about with a few drivers early on after we started at Load 1...At what point do you feel the need to collect it and do you ever forego even sending in the message to get it?

Me personally, I don't even look at filling in the QC page to get it until the end of the week, and then if i am having a decent week, I don't ask for it..

I know we are all in different situations, so how do you make that decision? As for the program itself, Thank You John, it is just one more thing that sets Load 1 apart for the herd....

Not tryin to put anyone on a spot at all, thats why i said we all have different situations...i was just asking how you make that decision...i mean lets say you sat from sat night till tues morning..thats a "$100 bucks..but on tues aftenoon you get a run thats paying the you (O/O) $1500 and then on thrusday you get another run that pays you $500 bucks...personally, i wouldnt claim the layover pay...

I think we solo CVers should be treated like a straight....instead of 10 make 8 hour delay before the 50 dollar clock starts ticking....when coming off say a 700 mile load or longer....that would be fairer to dispatch and safer all around....

I agree there should be a wait time but it's not going to make anything safer. Most will still stay inservice afraid someone will come in behind and bump them back.
