jj.....read all of the jack ryan related books. then one after the ryan era of a black ops team. never saw a follow up.

read a kussler novel about a black ops ex-cia fella with a freigher roaming the seas. can't find the other books so i loaded up on early parker/spenser and also grabbed appaloosa and the follow up story.

I don't think Jack was in the book. It's about the Why,and how
world war III was started and how it was fought and won. I think it was one of his first books. (# 2 to be exact)

When I was with panther I once deadheaded from Memphis TN all the way to California. I got two 300 mile loads along the way that paid my fuel home, then I got loaded 2 days later on a sunday going all the way back out to shreveport Lousiana. Then got a load from Shreveport all the way down to Michigan. Sometimes deadheading can take you out of a bad loop and set you up for a good week or two. I hope you get a load out of FL Gator, my other panther friend gets loads out of Orlando all of the time.
Probably not gettin a load soon. #4 out of 1 load a day. I will probably head up towards Atlanta on Wednesday. I had to take care of some personal buisness down here, pick up my mail and the other usual crap. it's still chilly (at least for floridians) being 63...i'm not crabbin....I like 63!:D

I stopped yesterday at the TA at Vero Beach, FL./I-95 exit
where two CV's were parked...one panther, one Landstar. I wanted to shoot the breeze, but didn't find either driver. Any of you there at that time? I was curious if they got loads to that area, and what their experience was on getting out of Fl. I usually dead-headed to Atlanta or Greenville rather than wait for rare freight heading north.
Jacksonville used to be a decent area, at least for panther. don't know what happened...guess it's just the economy and nothing's coming out of fl....

Dallas area, along with the rest of the fleet......I think. May be here a day or two.

60's, though, and no salt to wash off Clementine. No complaints except the lack of revenue.

Pretty good load out of Bradenton right now, but probably too big for a van. Not heavy though.

[Guido] i'm currently toying around with a new business model for mysef. One that includes making money and limiting expenses. I may just take decent paying 1.00 a mile one way loads out of Los Angeles and then book cheap backhauls off of get loaded. If I can at least cover fuel back home on a 1500 mile deadhead and spend like 300 to deliver the initial load, that is 1200 dollars in the bank for a week or sight seeing (at high speed however). Now, if I can do that twice a month, i'll have met all of my financial goals and then some. Not to mention I will be home more and spending less time chillin at truck stop. I think this makes some logical sense for a person with low bills and a van that is owned outright. Does this sound like a crazy business model?

I've never had to sit a full day on the detroit board, but here I sit since Sat night. Don't look very promising either. Had my slowest week in a long time last week, 625 loaded miles. Oh well I guess its just one of those weeks.....Tomorrow will be better right???

I know you didn't ask me but yes it sounds like a sure way to drive your business straight into the ground.

You are talking $0.60 per mile all miles??

Sitting in Belvidere IL waiting to pu load to Detroit ugh looks like I will be number 13 or 14 when I get empty in the morning unless some of them decide to start dead heading toward Florida for Landstar driver days in Jacksonville.

Hey bobwg I'll prolly still be here. But I'm sitting outside of detroit in Adrian. I wouldn't sit around here this long but it was the weekend and MLK day. Plus I have family here so I haven't had to sit in the van and go crazy
