I'm beginning to wonder if it's even possible for you guys [and I mean that literally] to understand how it feels to be less strong, smart, and able than you guys. Like, if you can mow lawns & dig ditches, why can't everyone else? [Though I have to advise LOS to cross 'writing a web page' off his list, ok? ]
Well, 'everyone' includes a whole lot of women, you know, and even without kids they have no one to take care of, they simply aren't going to get the jobs that men are better at - fact. And too, they don't have a wife who takes care of the household/kids/shopping/laundry so the man is free to work, like so many men take for granted.
And Greg: don't know, don't care - it's anecdotal, and even if it's true, what does it prove? There are Americans who have done it too - but the deck is most definitely stacked against them now.
40 years ago, a person got a job without a college degree, stayed with it till retirement, saved, bought a house, raised kids, sent them to college, and had enough money to retire without starving - all from a regular middle of the road job.
I say it again: without good jobs, what have we got?
The woman augument worked alot better 10-20 years ago.Because she is a women does not take her off the hook.How many women take for granted the husbands that go out and do a back breaking job so the woman does not have to go out and get a job.Sorry if that statement sounded sexist not who I am.When im home I help with the house I help do the dishes I help do the laundry I help clean the house and yes that includes cleaning the toilets.Maybe part of the problem is that some woman are willing to lets themselfs be put in that way of life.For me It does not matter if you are a women or a man even with the deck stacked against A person has control over their own destiny and course in life.
