Game over? Maybe for this thread, but in reality, I think it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
Tbub: nobody is making excuses for rioters - it's not acceptable, period.
What some of us think some of you don't understand is that people have been dealing with no jobs, low paid jobs, no decent affordable places to live, no transportation to look for work, no medical insurance, and finally, no hope that it will get better, for a long time, and blaming them for their troubles [just get a job! get 2 jobs! move to wyoming! don't trust the bank to be truthful, hire a lawyer!] just adds insult to injury.
Money can't buy happiness, but it does buy comfort, convenience, and pleasure - being poor [because the jobs that paid are GONE] means living with discomfort, inconvenience, and unpleasantness, day in & day out, day after day after day.....
Eventually, people may just explode from the pressure of never having enough good to balance the bad in their lives - just human nature.
The government is assisting the corporations and the wealthy [because it gets them reelected] and cutting out 'the people', and some of the people are getting sick of being blamed for breathing, almost, because they gave up trying to find work that pays enough to just barely get by.

Companies are formed to make money, jobs are secondary. Want to make sure you do ok? DON'T have a "job" run your own life, run a business.

People are uneducated, for the most part, because they CHOOSE to be so.

ANYONE can pull themselves out of almost ANYTHING if they WANT TOO. Problem is, far too many are WAITING for someone else to pull them out.

My family were coal miners when they came from Europe. We have done OK for a bunch of "dumb miners". Teachers, business owners, one even became the Attorney General in the State of MA. NONE are "dumb minters" today. (dumb miners, wops, hunkies, pollocks etc is what our kind was called back then)

One grandfather was killed in the mines, he started in the mines at age 10. He was killed when he was 62. The other buried once before, he made it out. I am the oldest of the "boys" in our branch of the family, I was the first to NEVER work in the mines. WHY? I CHOOSE to do different. One of my distant cousins owns a trucking company, rather large one. One was a pro baseball player. ALL came from POOR miners families.

All of us WORK!! When we can't find work, WE MAKE OUR OWN!

I know Polish people, Italians, blacks, Hungarians, ALL have done the same. THAT is the American Dream, not home ownership, not medical care, the ability to MAKE IT ON YOUR OWN! To control your OWN life and destiny.

People CHOOSE their lot in life. It is NOT the governments job to see that one "makes it" Making it is the RESPONSIBILITY of each and everyone for themselves!! All government does is get in the way.

These times are NO different, maybe even not as back as in the Depression. That is when our family started here. We made it.

I am not speaking of those who are hurt, infirmed, mentally unable, I am speaking of the MILLIONS who are willing to lay around on welfare, extended unemployment (welfare 2) who are perfectly healthy and able to work.

Right now, if forced, I would mow lawns, wash windows, plow snow, right web pages, what ever I could find to do. ANY legal work is better than being on the dole for me. As long as I am able I would rather fight through it.

People, for the most part, screw themselves. My lot is life is my making. Yes, things happened to affect my decisions but I made them. Yes things happened that should have not happened. Many of those things have really hurt us, we will get through them.

The fine print is why When a person that by signing a contract commits him/her to paying hundreds of thousands of dollars is why he/she needs to get a lawyer befor signing it.Loophole work both ways.And with a lawyer a person might just have found a loophole.Every time a mortgage was sold the intrest rate on that loan went up.

Because they truly know what poor is.They see that america is the only country in the world where you can be born poor and die rich through nothing more then hard work.They also know what real hard work is.I think most of all,many of them come from nothing and they see what they can have in life here in america and are willing to work for it.
