We bumped into a scanning issue this morning that is reoccurring of late. Driver scanned paperwork normally, no invalid scan message. Fleet Vision showed the load as paperwork not received which is normal. Checked again this morning and FV still showed ppwk not received. Checked with Admin, and they say they don't have the scan. Qualcomm scan outbox showed the scan was sent giving a confirmation number. Contacted the driver and had him scan the ppwk again. However, to get the load paid this week, admin requested the driver fax the ppwk. Driver stopped and faxed the ppwk, load will be paid.

Where do the scans go?? Who is responsible for picking them up?? Do the scans get lost in cyberspace?? Anyone else having this problem?? What can we do to stop this in the future?? Two hours spent this morning in phone calls getting this addressed and that doesn't count the inconvenience to the driver.

Well that is a tough question. The trucks scan them out. They go to Omnitracs, then our system automatically reaches out so many times an hour and pulls the scan files there over to Sylectus where it then index's them with the appropriate loads. Then the system moves into billing and thus then settlements.

Is anyone else seeing an issue currently? We arent having any reported here right now.

We have had it happen on a few occasions as well. Always at random times and not just on cross docked loads. We check for missing paperwork daily and have the drivers re-scan if anything shows missing.

Today's was the fourth or fifth time it's happened. No rhyme or reason, different drivers too. Nothing similar to isolate the problem.

Well hit or miss is really hard to pin down or isolate a problem. :(

Logs that are scanned in also, disappear at times

When Sylectus indexes the scan to the load, how does it reach our settlement sheets on Fleet Vision? Auto or manual input?

I am not sure, but let me find out. Number one biggest scanning issue, wrong load number hands down. That and people put the paperwork thru upside down, lol.

Agreed. If the pro number is wrong, the system kicks the scan to Matt and sends a Invalid Scan message back to the truck listing what is wrong. We can see that message and contact the driver. In this case, no invalid message was sent as the scan had the correct pro number.

Second question: If the confirmation number of the scan is given, can the scan be pulled from Omnitracs?

From admin:

When Sylectus shows that paperwork is checked in (scanned using correct load # & paperwork type (bol/pod) to trigger this action) This will remove from missing paperwork selection on fleetvison. – it won’t show the loads on the settlement sheets until we have manually processed the billing and settlement for each load. The billers verify that the scanned paperwork meets load requirements and then they will process. Once that is done the load will appear on settlement sheet on Fleet vision.

Sorry for the delay been in meetings all afternoon.

Davenport to Grand Island wasn't a real improvement....LOL:p

No it wasn't lol and totally the opposite way I wanted to go, but it paid really well. Was a really nice trip until I hit that storm last night. Major lightning show and then a whole lot of hail during a tornado watch made for some interesting moments. Oh and can't forget about the great breeze that was going on.
