Aspirin shouldn't be used with Pickles.

Some people think it will help speed up the pickling process while others think it cuts the acid in the juice and fruit - neither is true. AND neither is true that it changes the ph level for tomatoes and beans for canning.

Aspirin contains salicylic which is used in some food processes as a preservative, but should not be used for people who may have ADD/ADHD or Aspergers or Rye's syndrome and a number of other things should avoid Aspirin or foods containing salicylic - which Pickles naturally have in them.

I was told that yesterday and told my customer that if I was, I wouldn't be in a truck.

By the way, I came across Kitazawa Seed Company, check them out if you like Asian veggies.

I'll put them in my file...pretty much have all my seeds and plants for this year though.

Think I might need some Turf Builder plus weed control
..about 20000 Sq Ft...and how about some of the landscape fabic to put between the rows..pretty pricey stuff out here though.

So my dear hubby has finally gotten all of the garden tilled and it looks like black gold. Steady Eddie gave Ken a tip about covering it with black plastic for a couple of weeks to kill all the weed seed in the soil so we've experiemented with part of the garden. I should be getting the last of the plants in on Friday, but we're also supposed to have another snow storm on the way. I did get the raspberry plant in the ground and watered and covered with a plastic jug to help with it's start. I figure two more weeks and I'll be on my knees planting...think I should have ordered a new set of knees..*lol*

The chemical name for aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid - how could an acid reduce acid? [I know Italians who put a pinch of sugar in the tomato sauce to do it]. It makes no sense....
Don't care what the experts say about avoiding foods [I have ADD and Reynaud's], it bothers me more to not have them, lol.
I sure miss my gardens!

Does not.
You said so yourself, in your first reply, did you not?

Juju: have you tried Preen, for weed inhibition? I liked it a lot, and Preen Plus has fertilizer as well.

K I meant Doesn't

You Know there I have a problem typing and sometimes it cuts off the letters. THIS stupid keyboard that I'm stuck with until next month so cut me some slack. If you are in the same parking lot and hear a lot of screamming, then you know who it is.

You'll have to excuse me if I don't run right over, if I'm in the same parking lot and hear a lot of screaming, ok? Because I don't carry any protection, you know. [A joke - I was chatting with English Lady & her husband Tony the other day, and she said she worries about going around alone after dark. I said it doesn't bother me, and she asked if I carry any protection - I looked at Tony and said "She doesn't mean condoms, right?"]
Of course, if you typing challenged people take up proofreading, there won't be half so much fun here, lol.

I got to Minneapolis last week, and was lucky to catch Moot for lunch, but it was sooooo cold! He said it was supposed to snow [Fri night] and it did, as I was headed for Michigan [not much warmer].
I told him not to take it personally, but I'm not coming back till summer. Which is July 5th, I hear.:D

Just looked at the weather for the next ten days and it looks like I'm going to miss my target date of potatoes in the ground on Good Friday, but Easter is looking good. So today I'll cut up the spuds into pieces and let them dry and hopefully watch the snow melt for the next couple of days..we got about 6-8 inches. Hopefully I'll get all the onions, shallots, leeks in the ground too.:)
