She needs a lot of work mechanically but body wise she's sound. I have a T5 transmission to drop in it and GT40 aluminum heads and cam. Just waiting till I have the cash for a complete rebuild and a 8.8 rear end.

All that work and it will still just be a Mustang II.

Oh I'm sorry that its one of the best handling of the era by far that so many of "hot rods" butchered the mustang II just for its front end and steering components. But if I remember correct the mid 70's car wise was a very lean time. The joke that was the smokey and the bandit trans am or the fact that a pick up truck was fastest one year. American auto industry while paying my salary is the one of the dumbest in the world. Make carbon copy soulless monstrosities that helped ruin the environment. The mustang II was ford taking a chance on making smaller car that handled, I'll take them over any useless muscle car any day. Oh the 71-73 mustangs were better? That boat lol yeah right

BA in a bloated under powered type of way. A 351C with about 177bhp in a car that weights 2-3 tons is a screamer lol

Son, you need to do a little more research on Mustangs. Your numbers sound right for 1973; turn the clock back about four years, to 1968-69, to the days of Boss 302s (290 HP), Mach 1s (300+ HP), and the mighty 428 Cobra Jet. Vehicles worthy of great respect even from a then Chevy-head like me...

Good thing is I am specifically referencing the 1973 Mach I but more less the 1971-1973 in general in any small block V8 form only had about 280ish...Im not going to compared a 428 cobra jet to a 302 Windsor that isnt a fair fight apples to melons debate.

Everyone tries singles out the Mustang II platform as complete junk, i strongly disagree which is why I have that particular car. Compared to its mid 70's american counterparts its far better IMO, not to mention it wasnt designed to be a muscle car of the late 60's. It was to compete against the Datsun 240z and other foreign imports. To me it has more personality than any of the old straight line muscle cars and far nicer than a hot rod.

I've not done ky to md train load before but I have done csx Corbin to Nashville and one Corbin to inside ky but I forgot the town. Rail yards are neat

And those locomotives in their shops are MUCH bigger when standing 10' from them than when sitting in your car at a rail crossing. Massive!

My first load with my wife was a Memorial Day Weekend, Sunday Load, of one locomotive fan blade.

They REALLY wanted that blade.

I think I've only run CSX train loads. I think between Nashville, Cincinnati, somewhere in KY & a couple I don't even remember.
My favorite loads have been between military air bases and some to power plants. I've found the security levels at both to be quite similar. The power plants maybe even a little more strict.
