Due to circumstances beyond my control the "Vans 101" workshop that Jenny and I were going to be hosting has been cancelled. Instead it has been replaced with me doing "Protect Yourself and Your Freight! Freight Securement" mini workshop. I apologize to all of those who I had told, and those who had read Jenny's blog, and were anticipating the class, as it was not my decision. You can find both Jenny and I at the Expo the entire weekend, and we will be more than happy to sit down with you and answer any questions that you may have.

That's a shame. That was one of the best seminars last year.

Can you tell who ever made the decision, it is not a good one? Securing freight is pretty basic, any device has an end A and an end B, make sure when these ends are in place they stop the freight from moving.

I have to agree....Vans 101 is far more interesting then learning how to tie a knot....

New people looking into driving a van will find Nick very interesting and will benefit from his knowledge.

Drivers who have been doing this can attend the workshop to learn from Nick or teach Nick new tricks.

Nick is an informative interesting speaker and he could probably make learning to change a tire fun and exciting!

It seems to me Vans 101 is a much more important topic for success in this industry than securing freight. I do understand that keeping cargo from causing damage to itself, your van, or you is important but it is a topic that can be covered under Vans 101 in 5 minutes due to it's basic and simple nature. If I ever had a question about securing freight (can't imagine I ever will) it is something that could be answered by another driver or answered here easily. Vans 101 is a seminar that many can benefit from and can cover a wide range of important topics. I have never met Nick but unless he has really dreamy eyes it is going to be hard to make the topic interesting or get people to show up. It just doesn't make sense to change things like this when people are planning out what day they will be there based on the seminars or looking forward to certain topics.

Just to throw this out to Lawrence and others ...

ever thought of making videos of these presentations or the ones that are canceled for us who never get to the Expo?

Like this subject, I bet Nick info would help a lot of people if it was done either on paper or video.

A Neighbourhood Watch program and a "turn your truck off" is more important...

Immediately following Nicks freight securement class.

Gps 101
Those attending will become accredited gps users and will be provided a certificate to include in future resumes and increase their dollar value in the industry. :)
