Re: Expo "Vans 101" cancelled

I guess they might just as well change the name of the event to the "ST/TT Expediters Expo"...anyone that isn't in the industry and was considering coming to the expo and learning about expediting in a CV/Sprinter should now realize that you really aren't needed or wanted...we as an industry are no longer interested in providing the info that would help you make a informed decision and help you to be a success...

The CV/Sprinters are the Buttom feeders that need to be shown their proper place in our industry...I guess we have out lived our usefulness...no more reason to provide a "entry level entrant" with info about and industry that is "passing by the CV/Sprinter...."

Who made this decison??

One other thing, did anyone that was part of this decision bother to take a look here on the online forum and see which units people looking to enter this industry ask about most often??? Did anyone notice that in the "Stickies" at the top of the "Truck Forum" are what 3-4 threads strictly on setting up a CV/ Sprinter and the answers to CV/ Spinter questions??

This is an Azznine decision....

So again, who made this decision and what was it based on???

I say it was the illuminati, they are trying to get people into ST and TT for the fuel tax revenue to fund the NWO.

I have two recently retired brother-inlaw's that I WAS bringing to the Expo, primarily for "Vans 101". I'm not driving 200 miles for them to see a bunch of trucks. That makes three badges that wont be claimed at the Expo.

Why can't they do Vans101 and freight securement in the same meeting?

Yeah but if they get into driving a van how are they ever going to figure out what part of the strap goes into the E-track or how will they know what E-track even is without this seminar? :)

Dakota...this is nothing more then the start of EO working to lessen their priority on CV's / Sprinters....Nothing more....

Highway Watch?? what is it the the kids say now with all sarcasism.... "Really??"...as is are you serious?? This proram while of "some" importance, is secondary to providing info to people like Vanmans family members who were coming for info that is provided by an industry leaded....without the people coming into the industry , do we really nees a "highway watch" program...

Again, this is an asinine decision....LOL. My new CargoMax VAN will be on the floor in the Load 1 booth....you think Load no longer has any interest in these type of units or the people that drive them or are considering contracting to them????

Thats another aspect of this decision that showes the foolishness of the decision making process...how many recruiters are at epo answering questions from people that are looking for that "entry level" opportunity and those recruiters offer their epertise, but they also direct those looking to the Van 101 seminar for an indepth eplanation of what Epediting in a CV/Sprinter is about...Scratch that tool from the recruiters handbag...those that made this decision no longer see providing the info on CV's / Sprinters of importance...the people that are interested are being told they are no longer of importance to the industry....

Sorry you won't be making it to the epo with your relatives Vanman...but I understand, when the industry that you are part of and are trying to help ypur relative make a decision on entering say that they aren'[t important enough to provide the needed info, I'd be embarrassed to bring them to look at trucks also....BUT...I'd be willing to bet that you aren't the only one that will be making the same decision.....

Re: Expo "Vans 101" cancelled

I will state it right now, from here on out, whenever anyone comes to the EO webpage and post about getting into the industry in a CV/Sprinter....I WILL post the link to this thread every single time....along with telling them that those that put the expo on no longer feel they have anything to offer the industry and that they are no longer important to them....and in the future, I will no longer suggest that those interested in getting into this industry attend the Expo....

I think this is one of those asinine decisions that is a bit like ""Cutting off the nose to spite the face"".....

What about all of the people who do not get on here and read, but saw te advertisment in the Expedite Now magazine??? There was the one about a month ago with the pictures of everyone listing the times of their classes, and the one I picked up at a Pilot last night that is Volume 8 issue 4 with "cargo vans 101" being listed on the workshop highlights page...

Nick's a smart dude. He'll finish his "load securing" class in 4 minutes then get on to the important stuff... :p

You make a good point, should leave it as is and and throw the freight securement at the end of the workshop

That is too bad. So many people enter our industry through operating a van. I don't see the logic in that cancellation?????

Re: Expo "Vans 101" cancelled

Load securement is of as much concern to us that have benn in the business as watching paint dry..Maybe its just me, but when I was interested in getting into the industry, my 1st interest was on the type of Vehicle I was going to drive and how it worked within the industry.....to have a expo that is decided to share infor with people that have an interest in entering this industry then to exclude the every "entry level" units makes no sense....When you eclude them for the info they need to understand how and what they will be doing to become a success, then they really have no need to know how to secure the freight that they won't be hauling....Anyone that has a yr running freight up and down the road had already know how to keep the freight and themselves safe and secured. If they don't already care enough, do you really think they will attend a seminar to show them how???

Politics, nothing more....well that and "sponsor" money....

Another thing is that all of the "new van" dealers that are there for people to look at their options comig into the industry will suffer as well. There are vans there but nothing to teach them to come into the industry how to set it up. With out well educated drivers, the industry will have many people who dont look at the big picture we provided them with in our class last year that think because they have a van and gps they can expedite...

Re: Expo "Vans 101" cancelled

I really think we need to just call those people that we know personally that are interested in coming to the epo and their interest lays in a CV/Sprinter to get into the business that there really is no reason for them to come with the current situation...if there was an archives for our PM's , I could easily go back and find 8-10 people I have talked with on this board that I recommended to go to the expo to gain factual info in the seminars that were to be held....too bad I can't get to them and let them know i was wrong, the re won't be any infor provide to them, they are of no importance to those in charge of the epo anymore....

It was something my wife and I planned to attend even though we have already started, we thought it would be a good learning experience to be able to learn about things we may have overlooked and have an opportunity to ask questions and listen to the questions others have that we did not consider.
