Do you remember when

Didn't see it in my quick scan of replies... I remember when we got our 1st VCR player... we were still using 8 tracks well into the early 80's. Then cassettes came along. I remember when we got our 1st microwave too. seconds to heat food up? WOW! I remember when we got our 1st CD player... many already had them for some time... 1st it was just a single CD player. then it was a 3 disc changer. Then it was 10. I got my mom one a few years back that holds 25. She loves it. Now I see they have devices that can record from cassette and records to CD's. and VCR tapes to DVD. They've had them out awhile I know, but have finally begun to come down in price. I got a ton of cassettes waiting for that thing whenever I get it. we got so many records it'll probably wear the darn thing out recording them over to CD's. I even remember 45's. I remember Cabovers... my father drove 'em. Then he drove conventional's. Funny thing is... I began driving Cabovers, then went to conventionals. I still like cabovers, due to the turning radius. U can't beat 'em for turning radius.

I remember when New York State had lots of loads, and towns like Laredo and Mexicans, were just things that Marty Robbins sang about.

He wrote and recorded El Paso, and other 'cowboy' ballads in 1960 or '61.

I don't think he had a song about Laredo in his catalog but again I'm not a western fan by any means.
And I remember when he dabbled in Nascar.

I remember the first TV show that I watched, was "I Remember Mama"
I remember getting up in the morning grab my litttle red wagon, picking up my first girlfriend then going to bus stop and watching all the older kids get on the school bus.
I remember the two of us playing out side all day until the older kids got home from school.
I remember Saturday morning TV "The Lone Ranger" "Hop along Casidy" (may have spelled that wrong) "Roy Rogers and Dale Evans".
I remember when the news was 15 mins at noon time 5 mins news, 5 mins sports, and 5 mins weather.
I could go on and on but 61 years is to long to post here.

I remember my first expediting experience - being cut off by a Roberts express pickup with a little sleeper on it.

I remember "Tales of The Old West" hosted by Ronald Reagan, "Sea Hunt" with Lloyd Bridges, and lots of great old shows featuring great old dead guys. You could buy a hamburger, french fries, and a coke at the Golden Arches for $.90. What a deal. Cruise the loop and then stop by and have a burger with the gang.

I remember sitting in the front of my cabover trying to get up the energy to crawl over that big engine hump at the end of a long day of loading Houshold Goods.
Then spotting one of those little straight trucks with a sleeper on it and wondering what that was all about and if my wife and I could do it.
I think we can.

Actually, he did record "Streets of Laredo" as did Johnny Cash, Rex Allen, Burl Ives and a bunch of other C&W singers from the '50s and '60s. And yes, I'm old enough to remember all of those guys.

I couldn't find that in his discography list, but again the list is in a book, you know that ancient thing they used to use to keep facts and information in?

Actually Ronald Reagan was host of "Death Valley Days" that were true tales about the old west. Jerry Lee
