The week began great! had a nice weekend with friends at the yard. Monday got a load from MI to Raleigh NC. On the way started getting some vibration anytime power was applied. Found a local shop and they were able to get me in. Turns out a bad u joint. What stinks is I took it in thinking I had a problem about six weeks ago and the tech said he could find no problem. They had the needed part in stock and would have been in and out in one day. Well as many of you know on the sprinter the u joints are not replaceable it calls for an entire drive shaft. When they called to order one they were told there out of stock and on back order and would take at least two weeks. Well they located one a dealer in California so that one was shipped. The shaft arrived today so keeping my fingers crossed they squeeze me in to get it installed.

On a side note, felt my first earthquake while in the motel and now hoping to be out of here before the hurricane brings a bunch of rain or winds I would not want to drive that big white sail in.

Still in Laredo.....Occasional rain drops..hot...Calgon, take me away!!A snowstorm would be nice about right now..

Sometimes I wonder if coming down here is worth it.On one hand we know we'll get a good load coming out of here, eventually. That one run could make a decent week in itself.

On the other hand, we could be up north, running several smaller loads to make up the same amount of miles, just a little more work involved.

Just deep in thought at the moment.....

I am in KC. Just talked to the wife. She is staying on the boat as are a lot of folks. The Navy moved a lot of their ships to Baltimore Harbor from Annapolis and a lot of boats from other marinas are coming to ours because of floating docks with finger piers on both sides.

The marina survived Isabel without a scratch. So pretty stout place with good protection.

Current predictions have it 100 miles off of the Eastern Shore which has been evacuated. For Baltimore, 40 knot winds and some rain. Won't be to bad because we will be on the clean side if the current track holds up.

In 2006 we was in 2 tropical storms, Alberto, in Fernadine Fl and Earnesto in Washington DC. Both times on the sail boat we had then and anchored. What a ride!
