A John question...Why doesn't recruitment include at least an EO bumper sticker at orientation?
That was one of them....""I was thinking" moments...this doesn't cost you anything....LOLNever thought of that. I guess I could get them from Lawrence and we could do that.
OK, the "understaffed, overworked and underpaid" thing is a figure of speech. It means they are good at what they do and they work hard for their money. I can't believe so many have never heard that phrase. The obverse of that phrase is "overstaffed, underworked and overpaid," which isn't much of a compliment at all.
You don't need to take your shoes off to count how many times I've been up in Dispatch, so I admit that it's not very often, but every time I've been up there they have all always been busy, much like Brandon and Jeremy both were this morning - all working the phones hard, getting loads booked, or dealing with breakdowns or whatever. They certainly weren't sitting around and talking to me or anyone else, and it didn't appear they were eager to be distracted with idle chit-chat about the blatantly obvious - that I want a load. I infer from that that phone calls regarding the blatantly obvious is equally distracting. I would think that "IN SERVICE" would have already conveyed that information to them.
It would seem that if I call in and tell them I'm available for a load, and am willing to move somewhere else to get one, it would be both redundant and distracting to people who already know that information and are already working hard to get me and others loaded. Is that not correct?
Anybody heard from Chris? Curious as to how his night turned out.
I've only been with 1 other U.S. carrier and they didn't hand them out at orientation...I think you'd be first to do so on a regular basis and show even more support for EO....Never thought of that. I guess I could get them from Lawrence and we could do that.
Still hanging out here at the pilot will be here till Monday morning then getting towed to freightliner. Bored out my mind not being able to move any where. But i will live i guess lol

Regularly?...who said that?....not me...
Every Saturday seems regular to me.
its a habit...call Jeremy on Saturdays....LOL...He'll actually tell you where he has seen loads popping up for bid and give you the best option to move or not.......most of the others "are too busy".....
To Mississippi?...man you are a dog for punishment....LOLGot one to end the weekend....and make this week the best week of the yr,,,Tn to MS...Thanks Jeremy!! oh and it is a load from the TL side....
Now, when Jeremy called with this load I asked about this topic..his response, "Call me anytime"....
as for being told NOT to call into dispatch, other then a periodical message over the QC when they are overly busy, here at Load 1, i have never been told NOT to call dispatch....I know they are busy and dont abuse the situation, but i will call from time to time...if anyone feels they shouldn't call, don't do it...but I will when i feel the need..oh and when i speak about how good my week or quarter or yr has been, don't get "T'd" off...if you don't want to be as Mr Snappy said "Proactive"...cause we are....
