Maher has a show on HBO and I change the channel as soon as I see his show coming on the few times I have watched it for a few seconds or minutes it his him and the Hollywood crowd on his show spouting hate and lies about the Republicans and conservatives or anyone else that does not agree with Mahers political views

I took the words "liberal Jew" to mean that as a Jew, Maher should be familiar with racism and reluctant to engage in language that would make him appear racist.

And why is that? Are we now required to have HBO to partake in what you call mainstream culture? :eek: Why is TV SO important to you? It's not to me. Which part of "mainstream" culture am I required to partake in? I partake is MY "mainstream" culture. You don't. SO WHAT?

I was wondering how long it would take one of the "usual suspects" to post a reply in a similar vein as yours .... needless to say Leo, you didn't disappoint ..... (but then you rarely do ... :rolleyes:)

You (apparently) believe that my comments indicated that Bill Maher's political views are, in total, in the mainstream ... that wasn't what I was saying at all ....

But since I'm sure that is the premise that you raise the question on, if you had bothered to examine the Wikipedia link provided earlier you would have found that Bill Maher holds a number of political positions which I suspect you yourself hold as well ....

It is certainly the case that as a public figure and celebrity, Bill Maher is within the mainstream of current American culture .... as is Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, or for that matter ....... Wanda Sykes (much to your chagrin I'm quite sure)

My original post was more about the relative unawareness that some have of our current culture, and what it consists of ..... :rolleyes:
