    Finding loads

Thats not to bad if it is not much under a dollar, I firmly believe in not hauling cheap frieght. The worst load offer that I have been given was by the Company that I used to haul for. 22 stackable skids going from Houston to Columbus OH. Want to guess how much? NO way to high, try agian, No...

    Criteria For Turning Down Loads

I can relate to number five, Picked up in Canada, Snowing like crazy going to KY. Never got above 35 mph got hung up at the border for three hours, last 75 miles in the great state of KY were two lane with about six to eight inches of fresh snow. Delivered at 3:20am 20 minutes late. The kicker...

Hey Dave, Isee that you post often about being allowed to find your load to take you out of a bad area. Knowing that you have been around the block a time or two ( not an age coment ). Would you mind sharing how often you do this? Maybe a percentage for last year, I know this will vary based on...

    Looking For Volunteers

I see valid points from both ATeam and Greg. I don't see a need for a contract sample for a fleet owner. If he cannot afford a Lawyer to do it, Then he needs to build up his cash before getting into the bis. I would think that a list for Drivers and a list for Owners on things that they need...

    Math Question

Math 1950-2005 Last week I purchased a sandwich for $1.58. The counter girl took my $2 and I was digging for my change when I pulled 8 cents from my pocket and gave it to her. She stood there, holding the nickel and 3 pennies, while looking at the screen on her register. I sensed her...

    Best and Worst runs

The best paying run with PII had to be one frome the house. Got a call asking me to run over to fed ex ( small letters done on purpose );) 20 miles away, and deliver to the airport 7 miles from there. Then back home 22 miles. Did all that in about 1 1/2 hours for a flat rate of $250.00.

    vans and logs

Driving your truck to the truck wash is logged because it's the same as getting work done on it. If while at home you drive your truck to be serviced it needs to be logged. http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/truck/driver/hos/hos-faqs.asp A good link to refer to.

    Well I did it.

Why change a career now? Well I’m sure there are as many reasons for getting into this career as there are in getting out. Why change now, would be the question that would best be asked of our circumstance. We never planned on staying in the Owner Operator / drivers field for that long of a...
