    Layover Options Crazziness

We get those strange layovers too. Many times we have been 1/2 way on a very long lay over just to be called back to where we left! I also understand about the airbag. MHC in Dallas and Kenworth Sales Company in Salt Lake, I think may not be Salt Lake, are the only 2 dealerships that keep our...

    President proposes allowing interstate tolling.

Unless I can see the ongoing maintenance I agree. Some bridges require heavy monitoring and maintenance. The lake Ponchatrain causeway in Louisiana and the Golden Gate in San Fransisco come to mind. Outside of a few of those when I drive over a toll road that's beat to death I agree it's robbery.

Advice on Purchasing First Box Truck

Is the o/p still with us or did he give up on us? I doubt he wanted to hear the truth of what he was doing. I bet he more or less wanted us to say " buy a isuzu box truck and they'll get the best mpg be cost effective and you won't have any cop problems" but it's just not that simple. I will...

Advice on Purchasing First Box Truck

From someone that used to do things like your doing now I think $1k is crazy high. You could do a lot better, and I mean a lot better. But if you want to buy that's also a decent move. The truck and trailer idea is probably the least likely to be stopped by cops to inspect. The 10,000 lbs people...

    Flat rate???

Thanks, I hope it works out for you too. I think it's a lot in the mind set. If you know it's going to be a rough road you'll be better prepped than a person who thinks it'll be easy.

No. I have a team about to head to green for orientation but they aren't in the truck yet. I still have another truck to fill ... :-( and I'm trying to get the deposit ready for a sst100 brand new build. I've been told from jonsey it's 8 months ish out from being ready.

Advice on Purchasing First Box Truck

I ran a sound company and we used Penske trucks to move our gear. Our partner that did lighting got busted on one trip we were doing. We were in convoy, they got busted and we didn't. You never know. Even with a rented truck like Penske or Ryder if your using it to haul your merchandise you have...

    Phones Straight Talk

We have AT&T for our phones and verizon for our mifi. At&t's phone service is every where, even if they have to use a competitors tower which is nice. In those areas though the data sucks. The verizon myfi is much faster and in a lot of places but not everywhere and if I can't surf the internet...

Ok. I was dead wrong in my thinking. I googled it and saw a diagram of what it is. That makes way more sense than what I was thinking.

Amazon thinks they can do it cheaper with there own trucks.

Isn't amazon big enough it could just buy ups?

    Flat rate???

I really do understand what you mean. If I was in a different situation I might would decide to do something differently. For me the name of the game is quantity. Fedex did away with quality in the past few moves so the only way I can be successful is to have more trucks that can run on slimmer...

    Flat rate???

I'm probably 30 years younger than most on here. My age is the reason I want to start a fleet. I'd like to have a few years off the road to have a family, maybe raise a kid or 4. Then jump back in a truck once the kids are off to start their lives.
