    UPS Linehaul

I think a trip to bfe would be fun as long as I could get a guarantee I wouldn't be held up or murdered in E. It's not quite the same country it was just a few years ago. I'm just hoping for another shot at Alaska though.

    Total Choas at the FED

I don't want to be misread, considering I had tval testing and didn't start running until the 16, I'd have to say it was a great month financially. Just the hold times seem long, but if everyone else is having a good month it would explain the longer hold times.

Do cargo vans even have any sort of future in expediting?

For typical dry box straights they are flat rate. $1.25/mile + fsc. Loaded. $0.75/mile + fsc empty. No negotiation, no more, no less.

Do cargo vans even have any sort of future in expediting?

But s/t's take those loads all the time. Idk about all the van love. It would my suprise me if all the majors dump vans in a few years. I think FDCC is phasing them out now.

    Vehicle Question / Which Carrier

I second that question. Most people come here having a van and wanting to know what to do. Very, very few have operating authority right out of the get go.

    Thanks Dispatch Team

Or Sherrie's Berries! They are mighty fine!

    Total Choas at the FED

We switched to w/g in time and our surface truck is doing pretty well so far. It also has new drivers on it. That said, the on hold times are insane! Over $100 in Canada long distance charges this last week while I was there waiting on hold for a dispatcher. That's pretty unacceptable.

    who's running the freight

And we haven't run a normal tval load yet, we have bid on a few but none have come through.

    who's running the freight

New to tval. Kinda suprised in the low rates. So far we've made pretty good money but it's been cross border and haz as well. Everything normal tval has been less than my surface team is making. On the plus side, the new truck is a cascadia and wow! It drives soooo much smoother than my KW does.

Is the medical card something you don't want to do or can't pass?

Generator and Truck fuel usage separated?

I know this is an old thread, but I'm thinking of adding a tank on my truck for generator and reefer. What's the price savings at the pump? I know my overall mpg goes up so my fuel taxes will be less, but isn't it cheaper at the pump? And how much? $.10? $.50?

Peterbilt 335 Class 6 OK for EXpediting?

Try and find one with the eaton auto shift. It'll give you your best mpg. The px-8 is wet sleeve/rebuild able. 15,000 mile Pm's.

Peterbilt 335 Class 6 OK for EXpediting?

And I guess that's a short coming of mine. I don't have much class 7 experience. My only class 7 dealings were renting from Ryder and Penske. Those would always be rag'd out. Probably had more to do with them being rental trucks. That being said, I love my class 8 trucks. I'm biased. I think...

Peterbilt 335 Class 6 OK for EXpediting?

The truck build doesn't make me nervous, I'd be nervous about that 6L or 7L engine. Those were built for a life of 400,000 miles or so and are disposable. You don't rebuild them, you buy a new one when it wears out. They are also typically hooked to allison transmissions and geared for city use...

Peterbilt 335 Class 6 OK for EXpediting?

Why not buy one of the old expediter services kw's? They still have some that they referb'd or you can buy some non-referb'd ones from stoops pretty cheap. Even if it has 700,000 on it you get @ least 300,000 more out of it for probably less money than a 335 would cost you.

Peterbilt 335 Class 6 OK for EXpediting?

From what I see, you can get it with a gvw of up to 33,000 on a single axle but I'd be scared to dear of the engine options. The 6.7l cummins or the cat c7 look like what most of them are and those are pretty small diesels for otr work. But I also really think class 8 is the way to go. Why buy a...
