    Business Help

I see being a fleet owner and a self-financed seller as very different. The proposed situation puts the upkeep in the hands of the buyer and it happens to be on a couple that don't have the financial resources to protect their investment. As a fleet owner, If someone drives for me they make a...

    Considering bringing spouse on road

You could also give a s/t a try. With a team the hos issues are pretty much gone. Plus you get a guaranteed sleeper and pending who owns the truck they can get pretty spectacular. ;-)

And I'm not saying you have to give them the bonus. We do not offer a bonus going into a white glove truck, and you may find a team that's fresh and inexperienced and you don't have to give them a sign on bonus. I'm just saying make sure it's not because you don't have $1,000 in the bank.

Also, when reading the advertisements don't get too confused. There are 2 types of ads on this website. One is going after fleet owners and owner operators. They usually have the large bonuses to entice you to move your truck over to them. The second type of ad is trying to get people to drive...

    Motor oil

I have a 2008 cat c13 with 725,000 miles on it. It's had nothing but Delo from day one in the engine but my driver just had the pm done and they put Delvac in it. Is this going to be a problem? Do I just run Delvac in it from now? Do I need to have it drained and get Delo back in it?

    Calif CARB Question

Unless that motor has issues, I would expect u to get a lot closer to a million miles before an overhaul.

What large companies do you mean and what is a large bonus to you? I assume you have a truck your trying to get drivers for? Is it a surface or white glove truck? How long have you been trying to put drivers in your truck? It takes a little time to put them in, don't get real discouraged.

    Calif CARB Question

Everyone right now is adding dpf filters only on their older trucks. I can't see how in expediting you would ever recoup that money to go into ca.

    Calif CARB Question

It usually can't be done. The scr system made the engine be packed in crazy so it would all fit. Also, the costs would be so crazy high you'd be crazy to do it. A dd13 complete with the scr system would be close to if not over $60,000. And that engine won't fit in a t-660 wth the scr. Not to...

    I need a job

I'll second that. We use them as agents for our fleet. I'd recommend me but I don't have a truck available right now. They usually do.

    Calif CARB Question

Gotcha. Talk to expediter services as well, they have a couple t-660's left last I checked.

    Calif CARB Question

Not only that but each time the dpf is messed with the ECM records it , so u can pull a ECM report and find out when it's been cleaned and such. Who are you looking at buying these from?

    Calif CARB Question

If it's a 2008 it might have a dpf in it. The dpf is carb compliant until 2023 I think. We run a 2008, but we only will run it to 2018 and it has a c13 with a dpf. In saying that the c13 with the dpf is the reason cat left the otr engine building business. It's a very expensive engine to maintain.

    Insurance

Just to clarify something. The inland marine policy covers equipment and such that you transport for your company that your company owns, leases or rents. When I owned my sound company I had a $50,000 policy for that. It is commercial insurance and if you get in a wreck they'll cover it but the...

    Previous careers

I was a lighting/video/sound tech. If you've seen the multi color lights around the superdome or champions square next to the superdome I helped put that in. I mostly did large festivals and corporate shows/conventions. I was a free lance tech so I worked with multiple companies. I left to get a...

    West Coast Business Question

And I'm not trying to push FedEx down your throat, but when I'm in California and vegas I only see 3 expedite companies out there, FedEx , Panther and Landstar. I'd recommend Landstar but I think there are some strict requirements to get in... IDK? Maybe a Landstar driver can fill you in.
