    **WARNING to new contractors*****

If one of my drivers abandons my vehicle then I take the recovery fees out of his or her outstanding settlements per the contract. That's what's good about a contract. Without it some states will say the driver still gets all his or her pay even if they abandon the vehicle. It's not really...

How Not to Treat a Prospective Driver

If I was your trucks owner and you were fighting this hard to be an employee I would let you go (fire you in your inaccurate terms). You are a lawsuit waiting to happen and after reading these posts I can see you haven't done the appropriate home work and are not really ready to be in this...

A door that falls or is lowered on by an employee makes no difference.

    WG Glove Changes

Ok. Ok. So I talked with a driver that told me what came across the qc. They are lowering the requirements for entry into w/g. I didn't get it on my qc yet so I don't have all the details. Maybe someone that did can post it?

    WG Glove Changes

I'm reading the title better. You said white glove glove changes. I assume that means they are no longer sporting white. Has orange become the new glove of choice? It is more reflective and would match the seat belt wrap they gave us. So FDCC Orange Glove services. It could work.

    WG Glove Changes

Ummm. I don't think I follow you. I am a w/g driver/ fleet owner. Not sure what you mean. Did FDCC send something out and I didn't get it or is this just a change you've noticed? You can PM me if you don't want to post it on the forums.

Does any truckstop have decent internet?

I've hauled my straight trucks many a time to Panera Bread, not really for the wifi, but I love their Mac and cheese and everything else.

    bad owner operator

I really wish there was some type of legal document that both parties of a business transaction could use to help reduce these issues. It could spell out who is responsible for what, how does one receive payment and at what frequency, and expectations for the work required. If only there was...

Add a lift axle and get my cab polished/waxed. My clear coat is pretty much gone. That should use it all up.

    Pay question

Get a contract. Owner may be great and the best at panther, or he could be telling you what he needs to keep you happy and not questioning. As for dead head, they cover fuel but nothing else. Do u like driving for free? As you drive more in expediting you'll get a feel for where the good areas...

    Pay question

The 60% portion goes to the drivers for most owners IF the drivers pay for all the fuel. If not then the drivers only get 40% of the load and no fsc. That's how we do it and my drivers do about .25cpm as well. I don't think it's that off. The dh I can't answer for. My carrier pays better than...

Does any truckstop have decent internet?

Agreed. I have a Verizon mifi. It's expensive, but just as fast as my internet at home.

    Automatic Transmission

Auto shift here. I set it in manual 10th hear on the highway, otherwise sometimes it'll down shift climbing a hill and at those speeds I don't want my engine up at 1900rpm.
