I have to agree. Driving for a fleet owner 1st is a very smart way to play it. You can pretend the truck is yours and add up all the costs to get an idea of what a truck really makes the owner. You also gotta remember your never guaranteed the ability to sell your truck if your investment turns...

DOT requires access to the cab on the back wall and even has minimum size openings. Still people have done that with a boot between the box and the cab. It's called a Texas Sleeper? I think. TST has quite a few of those running for them, even brought one to the expo.

FedEx Custom Critical actually tried a pup trailer option for a bit, but it had very poor results so they scrapped it.

A lot of people drive for an owner and then go to buying a truck. I think the idea is to save while driving for someone. Then you buy the truck to make more money. It's not so much for people quitting a problem job and going out and buying a truck. Most of us would say that's an easy way to fail...
