    What's up w/ panther

Oh I am. I'm gonna run this truck for a little while longer then let it go. My other trucks are Daimler units, so if like to make all my fleet the same engine/tranny combos. Easier to catch issues and maint if everything's the same I feel.

    What's up w/ panther

I thought about a glider for my old kW. Then I remembered I have the cat c13 acert with the dpf and ard head. I'd be better off buying a 1 year older c11 and keeping my chassis. Shame they don't do a reverse glider kit.

    What's up w/ panther

Very true. But with this particular seller I've worked with them several times. It wouldn't concern me. They stand behind their trucks and I have the used truck horror story several thousand dollar repair to prove it. (They ate the repair bill with out hassle). Good people. Sadly they aren't...

    What's up w/ panther

It's all about market value. How many class 8, 2 year old, less than 200,000 mile trucks spec'd like this do you see for sale? Almost none. And how do you value it? I see it as if like to spend less than $20,000 per year on a truck purchase (not including interest). I'm looking at a western...

    Investment

I have to agree. Driving for a fleet owner 1st is a very smart way to play it. You can pretend the truck is yours and add up all the costs to get an idea of what a truck really makes the owner. You also gotta remember your never guaranteed the ability to sell your truck if your investment turns...

    Small Fleet Owner

I'm $1/2 million into this fleet owner game so far. I still think I'm a small fleet owner, but man does it feel big at times.

Looking for opinions/input about Expediter Services

I've driven for them, used their owner opp program and their fleet program. What can I help you with?

    Leased on

I have a fleet with FedEx. They don't help you find people. They have a company they work with, but it's very expensive.

Very very true. Also pre-approved financing, not just cash.

    Truck Options: Expanding Horizons

I'm not sure the details and what has to be done to make it legal. Search the past forums, it has been brought up before.

    Truck Options: Expanding Horizons

DOT requires access to the cab on the back wall and even has minimum size openings. Still people have done that with a boot between the box and the cab. It's called a Texas Sleeper? I think. TST has quite a few of those running for them, even brought one to the expo.

    Truck Options: Expanding Horizons

FedEx Custom Critical actually tried a pup trailer option for a bit, but it had very poor results so they scrapped it.

5 Owner Operator Mistakes to Avoid

I'm getting a bit more confused on this, I think. I did just review my loan docs and it is a simple intrest loan and never mentions apr, although it does mention nominal intrest rate and that it's a fixed rate. I'll have to check with my lender on the difference.

5 Owner Operator Mistakes to Avoid

Ahhh. I follow you now. Yes anything that is adjustable, beyond a typical line of credit, should be avoided like the plague.

5 Owner Operator Mistakes to Avoid

I don't think I follow you. You always need to know the APR when you borrow money.

5 Owner Operator Mistakes to Avoid

I know other people that did it also. It's easy to fail, not impossible and I don't recommend it.

5 Owner Operator Mistakes to Avoid

A lot of people drive for an owner and then go to buying a truck. I think the idea is to save while driving for someone. Then you buy the truck to make more money. It's not so much for people quitting a problem job and going out and buying a truck. Most of us would say that's an easy way to fail...
