I second that, get a cdl b then drive for an owner. A 26,000lb truck (non cdl truck) won't have the payload capacity to compete with a 33,000lb truck. Also, a big truck is a learning curve. Drive for an owner that can help you learn the ins and outs of both the truck and the business.

Fedex pays $1.25/mile plus fsc. The fsc has been paying between 28 cents and 32 cents. The solo part though is questionable.

Re: streight trucks with APU We also run the APU on all the time (or Generator pending what truck in in). I sleep in cold. Period. Unless I'm camping in a tent I have an a/c on. That being said, I am very conscious of what side the APU is on and where my exhaust is blowing to keep it from...

As long as it has a dinette/Murphy bed, sink with hot water, full size fridge, closets for 2 people and either a rooftop air with generator or a good APU, I'd be happy with it. ;-)

I hear you. According to the guy at aa it gets hot, just not as hot as my 2.5 gal will get. I'll know better in a couple months.

I have the old style with the 2.5gal hot water heater in my aa sleeper. We decided to get the tankless in the new truck.

They seem to run mostly solo freight. Pay decent. Seem like good folk.

Not running solo in any of my trucks. I have been looking at ptl as a potential solo truck option for some of my trucks. You may want to check them out.

Or down size the employment. McDonalds is already working on better automated stores so they can have less crew per store. Coffee is already so easy to do automated. Higher wages for entry level jobs for kids learning how to work will just result in a bigger/faster push in automation.

Community is a local Louisiana coffee that's growing up. Used to be we'd bring it from Baton Rouge up to Huntsville when we would visit relatives, but now I've found it from New Mexico to Virginia. It's quite nice. In Louisiana and surrounding states they operate CC's coffee houses. Very similar...
