What if it wasn't his number? Could be a large practical joke.

14 foot box Ford E350 with 2000 lb lift

I 'me from Baton Rouge and I've seen those used for hotshot, airport and courier uses. I'd call the local hot shot and package delivery companies to see if they need the help. Fedex ground may even use you for the upcoming holiday rush.

    Landing gear

Also, according to holland, the holland classic model landing gear can support 39,000 lbs (smallest they have) and only weighs 158lbs. Your not adding much weight into the truck.

    Landing gear

I don't follow you. I've had many forklifts in my truck loading a 1000 or 2000lb pallet. I don't need my landing gear for the pallets but for the forklift. I can understand why he would want them.

    Landing gear

Gotcha, then I'm not sure how the weight issue would affect you. At the Fed it would drop you to a c-unit and unless you did white glove type loads, extreme hazardous or very valuable, you would be hard to make much income with it. But being Independant I assume you've already seen the loads...

    Landing gear

FL and international both have them and they both claim they are DOT compliant. To me it would be a rough way to live, but coming out of a cv I imagine it's pretty luxurious. Gonna put an APU on it? I like my landing gear. I use them often. I've replaced both bags on my trucks and the KW bags...

Look in a junk yard. They are all over the place and way cheaper than that.

    Used lift gate

I'm based out of Louisiana, but I run coast to coast so it can be from anywhere for the right gate. Has to be a tuck under and 4000lb capacity. 80" x 48-54" would be nice

    Goodbye FedEx (again)

Maybe not history, but possibly in a box in the attic collecting dust. I hope one day we can dust them off.

    Goodbye FedEx (again)

The team ran the flat rate from July to early sept. We ran percentage when we drove that same truck from May 2013-June 2014. I never did the original flat rate so I can't comment on it. And as mentioned before the accessorial pay drastically made up for what I thought was going to be a...

    Goodbye FedEx (again)

The team did $1.56 all miles high month, $1.49 all miles low month. 3 months in a row over $20k. When I was running that truck I did from $1.62/high to $1.41/low. That's not much different.

    Goodbye FedEx (again)

A lot of miles. I'll have to check the extranet but I believe it was around $1.60-$1.65 all miles. Edit: not that high, see next post.

    Goodbye FedEx (again)

It's the fact that we are required to run for fedex exclusively but they don't have to use us exclusively. Outside of that there's not much to complain about. Rates are down, but they are down everywhere. We had a team on flat rate. They did over $20,000 each month until they moved to tval. I...

    Three months of flat rate

I haven't given up on fedex yet, but I also only run d-units and reefer trucks with them, only teams, and every endorsement/qualification they offer. From what I see anything other than that should be looking at another carrier.

Who are you going to drive for? Or are you going independent?

    Used lift gate

Where can I buy a good used liftgate from? I want to add one on my existing truck but don't care to pay the $9,000-$12,000 I've been quoted for a new one.

    Don't you just love it

Haha. I'm glad your ok but that's stupid on there part. I was driving from vegas to la recently and had a dumb @** get right on my bumper, swerve around me and race to the next truck and do it all again. It ended up being an expediter in one of them cascadia's and it made me upset to know in our...

Straight truck body height and width

I used to run those Ryder and Penske trucks in my old job. Most are 260hp-300hp with a real automatic allison or similar tranny. They are made to be ran around town, not really for over the road work. They are geared to give you lots of take off power but they run hard to push you down the...
