    Sprinter Cargo Securement

RLENT: I would also add insulation to the walls. I use styrofoam board with a foil backing and Great Stuff expanding foam in an aerosol can for small cavities.

I would split the difference between the 14" and 26.5" or go above the 26.5 and run a piece of 5/8" x 6" plywood or hard wood. Bolt this to the verticles and screw the E-track into the wood.

WHAT DAY WAS IT WHEN PANTHER TO OVER CON-WAY

Saturday July 22, 2006: 08:00: I was out walking my dog. When I got home my wife said Don Fegtley, V.P. Sales called and I should call him right back, on his cell phone and on a Saturday morning. I thought now what did I do to warrant this call? I called him back and got the news. I then...

    WI-FI internet?

Flo and Eddie wrote some of the Turtle's songs, but most were written by others. My favorite is "So Happy Together" the version recorded live when they were with the Mothers. This was not written by Volman and Kaylan.

Gerry, excellent advice on reading the D.O.T. bible. Bambam if you read this on the bus you will be prepared to ask specfic questions in orientation that may need further explaining.

    Rules for Dispatchers

I wish they would hang up on me more often. Last week or the week before I was on hold for 38 minutes before someone talked to me. I turned on the speaker phone and played with computer while the recording played over and over and over. They had been in a meeting and nobody was answering phones.

    Load board question

I'll take a stab at this. NLM is a 3PL or third party logistics company. A shipper will call NLM and then they do the rest as far as contacting carriers, billing, POD etc. My limited experience with them is that their pay rate is toward the lower end. You could have 6 carriers all getting...

How many of us are hauling at reduced rates and if

RE: How many of us are hauling at reduced rates an Am I hauling at reduced rates? Compared to what? Compared to 1998 when I was paid .97/mi. and more for loads less than 300 miles. YES I AM! Compared to 2002 when I was paid 1.02/mi. and more for loads less than 300 miles. YES I AM...

Is Panterii going to buy TriState?

Graphics and name changes are small potatoes in the grand corporate scheme of things. All Con-Way business units were undergoing the same change. Plus the new name and graphics are still available for future use. They started Con-Way truckload from scratch only to sell it and some years later...

    Sprinter Cargo Securement

RELENT: I didn't realize you owned a dual wheel Sprinter. I agree that raising the floor 12" and thus raising the center of gravity is a major safety issue. Be safe and keep it low. Good luck. Moot p.s. At 6'2" you can't sleep crossways. Might I suggest the MootBed.

Is Panterii going to buy TriState?

I believe that Con-Way Now was up for sale. But that only a few at corporate and nobody at Now knew this. I would not be surprise to see Con-Way re-enter the expedite market in the not so distant future.

Hours Of Service & driver retention dilemmas

    Sprinter Cargo Securement

I must add that this is great fun building a van with someone else's money. When you get done please post some pictures. The cool thing about vans is there are as many different van setups as there are expediters. With the exception of Alumabunk and Phoenix conversions we are left to pertty...

    Sprinter Cargo Securement

RELENT: Another option is composite deck boards. They run an inch or better in thickness and could not be used on a conventional van with a 48" high door opening. But would work on a Sprinter. There are several manufacturers of this and different styles. Some solid and some hollow core. I'm...

    Sprinter Cargo Securement

RLENT: How much of that 162" floor will be available for cargo? If more than 8' you want to go to a real lumber yard for some longer plywood. Avoid any seams that run perpendicular to the length of the floor in the cargo area. This will prevent pallets from getting snagged when being pulled...
