Professional courtesy in what manner? This is an open forum on a Web site, not a loading dock. Simple courtesy and civility is one thing, but I cannot see how professional courtesy plays a role here, other than in discussion regarding the profession itself. Moreover, this simply an open forum...

    Black America

Yes, I'm aware of that. I'm also aware that you said if you have a hyphenated race, then you're not a full blooded American. Last time I checked, "American" wasn't a race. Then you gave us the definition of Native, ostensibly, I guess, to mean that "someothercountry-American" just won't do for...

    Estimate $4 gas by spring

A locomotive engine burns roughly 4.5 gallons per hour at idle. The US Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) provides fuel consumption data for locomotives and shows that overall in the US trains got .06 miles per liter which translates to .14 miles per gallon, or about 7 gallons per mile...

    Estimate $4 gas by spring

Did you know that if you have your own well and your own mini refinery in the back yard, if you make your own fuel you still have to pay the taxes on it. Same with making your own biodiesel for collected chicken grease from KFC, and from being a trucking company that owns its own refinery.

You can't offer owner/ops fuel like that, not unless the refinery comes complete with an oil well next door that's hemorrhaging crude. You gotta buy oil, by the barrel, just like everybody else. Nice thought, though. One can wonder why the oil companies don't own the trucking companies. Next...

    daily fuel report

I don't check online every day, 'cause I can mainly look up at the sign and see the price of fuel where I'm about to buy it. But when I do check, here's where I go. http://www.fuelgaugereport.com/ TruckMiles.com - Daily Fuel Prices by ProMiles Flying J: Current Diesel Fuel Prices Pricing

    Obama / Farrakhan Connection

The media doesn't quite know what to do with Obama. They refuse to treat him even the way they treat Hillary. They hammered Bill Cunningham (WLW radio, Cincinnati) over the use of Obama's full name, including <gasp!> his middle name, in a McCain rally warmup speech. The national media went nuts...

    Drivers Council Meeting

There have been many issues brought up here on this forum. I would hope that a Council Member would be able to recognize any relevant issues seen here and not have to wait for the same issue to be found in a duplicate message via the Panther Web site. Not being in a TT I cannot read your...

    Obama / Farrakhan Connection

Then why constantly bring up Farrakhan and his connection, real or imagined, to Obama? It's skirting the issue. In the other post referenced here, it's easy to sing the praises of some other black candidate when the other black candidate isn't even a candidate. It certainly gives the impression...

    Opening Day!!!

The Astros have taken a giant leap backwards, the Brewers are stumbling, the Cardinals are fluttering off their perch, and the Pirates are adrift and floundering. (sometimes I crack myself up). I think it's between the Cubs and the Reds, with the slight edge, at least on paper, going to the...

    OMG I am IMPRESSED

Hawk, I don't think it's that simplistic at Panther. I do know that the suggestions put forth from the Council are appreciated and listened to by the company heads. Proof of that is the fact that many (well, a few, anyway, the easy ones, at least) of the suggestions have been implemented, and...

    Estimate $4 gas by spring

13 straight weeks of inventory surplus, with each week being a larger percentage surplus than the one before, and yet the price of crude keeps rising. Yeah, speculators are keeping the price up. They're keeping up to the point where it looks like there may even be a bubble going on here. Not...

    OMG I am IMPRESSED

I hope I don't come off sounding critical or unappreciative of the Driver Council. Far from it. I'm just frustrated that these people are ready, willing and able, yet Panther doesn't see the need to utilize them more fully.

    OMG I am IMPRESSED

Leo, ultimately, no, it doesn't matter what they call the boards. They could have five Kentucky boards and call them KY-1 through KY-5, as far as that goes. What matters is they have the boards properly defined, based on freight movement and common sense, and with detailed input from drivers...

    Estimate $4 gas by spring

When you go off about the oil profits, before you do, take a close look at the percentage of profit they make. It would be one thing if they make a bazillion dollars profit on 10%, and then suddenly made 2 bazillion on a 20% margin, but they don't. Their margin stays the same. When they have...

    OMG I am IMPRESSED

They had the opportunity to do just that, but they didn't even solicit feedback from drivers on the implementation of these things. They just did it, then figured we'll patch it up when we get feedback from everyone. That's bad enough, as they had the perfect opportunity to prevent a lot of the...
