Turtle's right........I86 is your best bet for an alternative route. It's 65MPH most of the way, which helps and they have improved quite a few stretches of the route. The toll prices are getting absolutely ridiculous here in NY. We,too, try to avoid the toll roads here whenever possible.

Fed ex already has quite a big list of drivers & fleets who will not do canandian loads. They also have a list of those who refuse to do NYC loads. I have a truck who will no longer do canandian loads after an incident that happened last week. I don't blame them one bit for feeling this way...
