    Naked in Baltimore!

Streakin, are the normal bags that the engines are wrapped in padded or is it like the thick plastic that they place on boats for hauling?

    Panther Refusal Stats

Where to where? Elite? General? These figure into whether or not the load is accepted by us or not. If it's a general load probably not, but if it's a government load then probably, and if it's a reefer load probably.

    Acceptance Rate and Fuzzy Math

Turtle... I didn't mean that your explanation sounded like the tax code! I thought you did great with "explaining" the tax code. Sorry for the confusion. `

    Acceptance Rate and Fuzzy Math

Is it just me, or does the explanation of how it is figured sound like the tax code? Take this month minus last Tues, add next Wed, divide by Monday a week ago...not counting this, but counting that....etc. Good Grief! There had to be an easier way! Turtle brings up a point Does anyone...

    *&$#*&( Repairs

Shooter don't feel like the Lone Ranger. The alternator on our reefer was replaced 2/11/09. We got loaded 3/10/09 with a reefer load, we were sending in our depart messages when the reefer quit. We got unloaded again. Headed to Thermo King. This time it was corroded wiring... to the...

    Professionalism and Appearance

We all keep fussing about the lack of freight, the low rates, the company doesn't "care" about the O/O etc. etc. We did a swap a few days ago that required the use of our lift gate. It was in Chicago, east of 94 so low clearances may be a problem. Since we'd never been to this particular...

Response to Ateam's avoid this section.

When we lived in Albuquerque, we decided to take a road trip (before we became truck drivers) we went through Pie Town and took a little road just outside of town. (NM 603) to (NM36) to (NM 117) For the next 3 hours we were in the middle of absolute NOWHERE, no houses, no people, no nuttin...

More Doom & Gloom to preach!

Streakin, this is an excellent post! We all should be reminded to be attentive to our surroundings and to be a little more cautious than we might have been in the past.

    SMOKERS, For your consideration

We've found very few truck stops that are not smoke free now. I remember there were a few restaurants that had a completely separate dining room, behind glass walls and with ventilation systems for smokers. (Ft. Wayne and a place in GA come to mind). Even these places have gone completely...

    Killer Truck Drivers

The article takes what is a legitimate problem in some cases, and turns it into a "scare piece" for the masses. Typical reporting  I constantly get " Oh, you drive too?"

    Fleet Drivers

Best thing you could do is read back through the forums. There is also a classified section on EO that lists fleet owners that are looking for drivers.

    911

We've also called a few times. One night in IL, an elderly gentleman pulled out of the rest area headed in the wrong direction. Luckily, a trooper came just after he figured out he was going the wrong direction and was headed back into the rest area. We called 3 times about a drunk on I80 in...

How does your truck/fleet owner rate?

We have a great owner!! Excellent equipment, on time pay, etc. He provides us with one of "Col's" RV's ;) If we were ever to buy our own truck we would go with a smaller sleeper, larger box, dual axles, Onan generator, rooftop A/C, wabasto heater, large refrigerator, micro convection oven...
