Could mean less Caterpillar loads in couple of months

They certainly can. But it's amazing how it puts that little "ripple in the pond" on a level playing field.

Could mean less Caterpillar loads in couple of months

But let's just suppose they do. They have 5700 plus expedite units at their disposal to move the freight. I think Cat would appreciate that.

Could mean less Caterpillar loads in couple of months

And here I was told that Taylor Made was getting all the expedite stuff. So much for rumors.........;) BTW, Tri-State has never done Cat at "cheapo" rates. They don't broker the overflow as cheapo either.

Exactly. Cat does one year contracts because it's plausible to do it that way.

    Panther is cleaning House???

Getting your authority won't solve it. I see stuff going on with a certain big name carrier's load board that would shock you: Freight going for less being brokered out, than any of you contractors would ever agree to run it for. There is a feeding frenzy right now. You just have to decide...

    Are you an employee?

I think Charles was pretty clear, just probably a bit P.O.ed right now at what I call the "mommy culture."

    FedEx

As far as the C rates go, what I'm seeing is the emergence of a "C" rate that has it's base about 10 cents higher than a cargo van, as opposed to the old method that was about 10 cents less than a D rate. Who knows. Everyone seems to have a new definition for every truck these days.

    FedEx

Well, the Sprinter is definitely digging in on the three pallet loads. It's also sending the C rate downward following the lead of the B rate in the last couple years. Fedex requires all C box units to be dock high, which doesn't make you anything special there. But with many of the smaller...

    money

Stay where you are. Expediting is like any other business. If you're good at it, there is cash to be made. No easy money here though. If you are netting 800 a week and you halfway enjoy your job, then why change?

Nope. At this point, she is in charge of logistics (load board monitoring, dialing my cell phone, and mapping stuff). Boaz is in charge of stress relief (making us smile).

    Well Worth The Money!

CSandS, I'm not quite sure what you're getting at with your last comment, but I am certainly not trying to bash someone who is simply out to better themselves with a new venture. Frequently, there are posts concerning a certain small carrier in the Chicago area that are asked. Several times...

    Straight Truck Lifts

Anyone on here have a rail gate installed? One that when in the folded position upright, can be lowered below deck so the fork lift can cross?

    Well Worth The Money!

Good word, DaveKC, I don't necessarily think a person needs to have years in his company, but he does need to have years of experience in his field, previous to his own endeavor. More experience than say, a failed brokerage and getting fired by a fleet owner and holding their truck hostage...
