Looks like that was edited out. No freight yet so I'm going back to my imaginary truck a while. It's still around, on the insides of my eyelids. :D

took a load from DC to the dump 23 miles away. outdated books to be directly incinerated. paid nearly $70 per mile with DDPS on all miles. dump site was inside a building. poor puppies were miserable, i simply covered my face with a cloth doused with perfume. took 3 days to get the stench out of the truck. yucky job, awesome money. trucking isn't always a pretty job.

Hey! Whatever it takes to pay the bills. Some runs are kick a$$, some are a$$kickers.
Each run has it's own merits, and downfalls. Do them to the best of your abilities, and to heck with everyone else. Never done a trash run, sounds somewhat interesting but, not enough to want to do one anytime soon. Glad your their to do them, IRT.
A picture is worth a thousand words as in the cactus one, got any dumpster diving shots?

Does anyone have any idea who (or what) "ack" is?

He was referring to me. IRT I'm not an ex Marine. There is no such thing. Once a Marine always a Marine. If you would like you could come to my funeral, whenever they have it, and then you can all me a former Marine. By the way, Why would I give you a hard time for taking this load? When I pulled refers I had my refer unit go out while I had a load of chickens on, and I had to haul them to the dump. I've also had to take pallets to places to sale because I was stuck with so many after a load that there wouldn't be room for the next load if I didn't. I've also made dumb moves before. Like once when I was with Panther I took an empty move offer from Destin, FL to Brewton,AL. Who has heard of Brewton,AL before? Supposed to be 3 loads a day coming out and I was the only one on the board. 2 days later no load and I went to Huntsville,AL. They finally sent me a load offer picking up outside of Nashville close to Lebanon.

I just started giggling. I took that e.m. offer from Panther, too. Had the same result. Do you think that could be a glitch in their computer program:confused:

That happened in 2005. I hope for people running for them now that they got that fixed. It was a string of bad decisions that put me there. First of I had a hands off owner, which was good sometimes, but pretty much told me to do my thing. I took a back haul (paid good) from San Antonio to Destin,FL. That was the first mistake. The second was going to Brewton,AL. Knowing what I know now I would have went straight to Huntsville,AL or maybe even over to the ATL but not Brewton. My CC called me and says "I'm looking at the qc and gotta ask, Just where the heck is Brewton,AL?"

I have done a few computer loads that you were suppose to take the trash to the dump.To this date as far as ive gotten is the closest dumpster, but the loads did have extra revenue for the dump.As stated,my truck doesnt do muddy parking lots, used muddy instead of the word it should have been
