    What months are really busy?

Third and fourth quarters are generally the best for all modes of freight. July was kind of disappointing for me. Now if I can just get this root canal/crown work done finally, I can get back to freight running. At least my new rig spent the week getting a 4000 lb lift shoved on the back, so...

    Have you seen this?

Wouldn't say that CC Surface is dying at all. All expedite is facing a possible economic starvation. You just have to continue to make yourself relevant to survive. ICs who have a list of "I don't do this, I won't go here" will continue to choke themselves out of existence. Same with...

    Have you seen this?

Fedex Freight are contractors just as Fedex CC are. He may have been running a smaller linehaul for the LTL division. Basically, it's just whatever truck the owner brings to the table.

I could have them mixed up w/ someone else, but I believe Highway Star is runnin' with them these days.

Yeah India. Go with what Redytrk said. You should have little trouble disputing it with the credit card company.

    Panther Secrets

What's wrong with St. Louis? I think the biggest thing you will face is making sure that, while in St. Louis, they are actualy appearing on the St. Louis board and not somewhere off down the road.

About bolt-express read this before you go onboard

Hey KEEKEE, No recruiter or dispatcher is a fortuneteller. They cannot pull loads out of their rear ends to dispatch to you. July didn't meet my expectations either. You sure won't make any money by jumping around. No carrier has the magic potion to make you a success. That's your job...

anyone know of orare with a company that will allow a 28,32 or 40ft unit.

Check w/ C & M, or Bolt or All State. I could be wrong, but I think any of those would run your wheels off. Oh and get a trailer w/ a lift gate.

    Corporate Lodging Discounts

I got my card from OOIDA. If you don't have it already, just call them and ask that they send it to you. It is part of your yearly membership. I've used it a couple of times now. No problems with reservations. They shouldn't give you a problem, if they accepted my own one truck carrier name...

Just know this: July is generally one of the slowest months of the year.

semi with 28ft trailer new expediting thing?

Generally, the bigger companies will have more regulations to follow. It's kind of like the family that has eight kids vs the family with a single child. There are more rules to keep chaos at bay. Expedite companies sell based on standard vehicle sizes. Fortunately I believe there are indeed...

Could mean less Caterpillar loads in couple of months

I think what Moot is saying is that Cat does a whole lot of shipping, some of which is heavy haul, expedite, LTL, truckload, and all sorts of specialized stuff. Very diversified carriers involved.

Sorry bud. CC isn't a member of the Alliance, nor will they ever be.

Could mean less Caterpillar loads in couple of months

Let me just say, that if you ARE with a small carrier and all they can do is get you outboard work from a Metro area and then they just want you to deadhead back to that SAME metro area, they are just lazy about loading you. They are also the minority out there. There are LOTS of opportunities...
