Been driving for a couple of years. Driver from RJR Transportation approached me today and said he is getting 2000 miles a week and keeping busy. Need to know if these guys are for real!!

Check their rates and FSC and you will have your answer.
Think I would review several carriers prior to a commitment.

YES, I have heard of this company and I talk with a driver who has driven with them for years now. They are not looking to hire on solos. They do not look for any loads under 500 miles. They look for long hauls for teams. You will stay busy with them as far as miles. but as far as fsc and mileage.. I am not sure they offer the same as other companys.

further to an explanation the terse former canadian did not allow:D.......... nlm is a company that co-ordinates all the automotive moves for the big 1, 2 or 3 whatever you subscribe to. maybe more loads/companies that i am not aware of. the cpm is low and the fsc is also.

Cpm and fsc, gets low when it's put on the gpsnet board but not as low coming off the nlmi board, after its been handed down couple times then driver gets lower rates. But it takes months to complete the ISO progran to do the NLMI board.

With all of your talk about GPSnet, I take it that you're an Alliance member as well.

Nope have a very good friend is, but I've to wait several months before I'm eligible to join, They have a 6 month waiting period if you worked for a member of the alliance, but my friend is getting on the NLMI board and have worked out a better rate getting broker loads from him than going on gpsnet, since it appears mostly all gpsnet is hand me down loads off the nlmi board. My friend has an expediting company and he did used the gpsnet and been on their website and know about what average the bids/awards are, and have a friend in WVA has big trucks and his brother is a broker and seen some fact on NLM loads of compare to gpsnet, much rather be getting loads from NLM. But the site that Honda uses is entirely different, they and several big truck company goes thru a certain logistic company that seems to be a big secret, but finally talked to right person lasts week and got info sent to me, so excited about that. About my friend who is getting set up on the NLM board, used to work for him but a dispatcher of his kind of torque my jaw ones and told him where to stick it, and went to work next day for someone else. My friend was on vacation, when he got back he wanted to talk to me so we went fishing, but told him I just decided to go somewhere else for a while, he since changed that dispatcher and after got my own authority we did several deals together and since he is also a broker makes it easier. But in near future will be putting on driver and since I was one know what it like, so I might not make as much but don't need to get rich just comfortable, so expect to do some things different. Like letting my drivers have more than just me as a contact but all will be under my agrrements, so they can help look for loads too and it will be confirm by our office personel before its accepted. I do not care if the drivers I select knows what I make as long we all make money. This goes back to a little old ways of the past.

Sounds like you've been misinformed about what the Alliance is. While there are Allaince carriers who book NLM freight, it is really a small part of what happens on GPS. The Alliance is a cooperation of small carriers that are able to accomplish customer coverage on a peer level that the big carriers will never be able to do amonst themselves.

If a contractor of an Alliance carrier is having trouble with a low fsc on NLM shipments, it is not because of GPS, but because NLM is like an auction. Panther does NLM too. I have been contacted by a couple of 3PLs (fancy broker name) that do NLM. They promised to offer my truck position everyday to NLM for me. It's funny. Once I gave them my rate, I've never heard from them again.
