    deer strike survey

Anyone using those deer whistles? Do they work? Does the frequency mess with dogs?

Less Than a Buck to laredo

Well, I don't know if they are required to show the revenue or not, since they are on percentage. That would prove or disprove the theory that they're trying to make more money off their people. But these kinds of rates are ridiculous. Maybe a really bad glitch in the system? Truckload...

Ford E250 Super Duty enough truck for the job?

Haha. Too funny. That is an estimated weight though. It would be interesting to find his actual weight without freight. Run that puppy across the scale with a loaded tank and let's see.

Amount of hours aloud to run in a CV?

Carrier shut down? I can't believe YOU haven't been shut down by DOT, if you were running 2750 straight thru (as a solo). If you're a team truck, then that wouldn't apply anyways, as long you still have some left on your seventy. No one can MAKE you take anything.

    pay rate question?

That's about right. While rate of pay is important, it's not the only question. How often can they load you? You can go with someone who promises the world, but if they can only load you once a week or less at that higher rate, then it's not profitable. Or if you have 40% deadhead to get to...

Would you use a Expedite Broker

I think the misnomer is that "broker freight" = an LTL found by subscribing to Getloaded. A lot of those WILL only pay the fuel to get home. There are lots of brokers that move expedite loads almost exclusively. Some are carriers as well. Some expedite brokers are "two ladies with laptops...

    pay rate question?

I can tell you why we do a flat rate on the longer ones (I will usually give an o/o a "spot offer" on a short one). There might be some where I'm getting &2.00 a mile for the van run, but the next one ends up in a fight and I'm only able to get $1.00 per mile from a broker (and still pay you...

Flying J no Showers in future

And a diesel CV or sprinter paying with Comdata or other funding card must prepay at the truck counter, get them to turn on the pump at the front counter, and then go pump. Drivers continually have issues with TA employees, because they have no clue about what the program offers.

carriers without a 5 year or less requirement

Not to mention that it will be quicker to get replacement part at the dealer, or oem parts from another source. When you start putting on lots of miles on such a vehicle, you will be glad.

Signing on with more than one carrier

I saw a sleeper straight with sleeper in Memphis as well. Back when they still said EGL, I saw one in Tampa. I think it was a KW, with like a 48-60in sleeper and 24 ft box.

Signing on with more than one carrier

He was driving an International 4400 sleeper truck. He runs a dedicated route up and down east coast for Honeywell, I think.

I chatted with a Ceva Expedite owner operator the other. Nice guy. I know, it's off subject.

Signing on with more than one carrier

Seriously true. You have to question the motive of carriers who allow this. You can't keep the ones you have leased busy? Why? Laziness? Many companies who allow the non-cmv trucks to do this are looking to grow their numbers on the books ONLY. To them size equals prestige and success.
