New Federal requirement for CDL drivers

Well if the brokers/carriers took on some risk that would change things in a hurry lol - might have to up that 5000 a little It does seem like its a little too easy to close a company and pop back up again with a new name when you get caught Have to admit, I had that thought just to counter a...

    Cargo Van Need Sprinter Advise

Def, nox, potAto potAHto. If they are down to that price then its not an issue anymore. I'm probably misquoting a half remembered post from Sprinter-source about a replacement of the whole system, and maybe swirl valves too :D Sprinter is the longest and a nice drive. Caveat emptor. Good...

20 or 22ft Box for Straight Trucks?

Probably the GVWR plays in here. I've hit my gross with an engine taking up 3 feet of the 13 available in my Sprinter. Maybe a 24' box on a single axle is overkill?

New Federal requirement for CDL drivers

You know...as a pure gov hater and skeptic...the CDL would get rid of a LOT of chaff...maybe van drivers would have a chance again Combine that with proper proof of commercial insurance and we'd all be rich :D

    Cargo Van Need Sprinter Advise

You'll get some answers, here's mine Sprinters are great until they break down. They have a nasty habit of confusing themselves and needing very expensive parts, that few mechanics know how to fix properly. Try $3-6000 for 2 def sensors. Most went to Fords which seem ok so far...less went to...

Cargo Van Sprinter 4cyl who has one?

My hearsay from the truck stop: less problems than the V6 meaning those crappy def sensors didn't screw up until about 300,000 miles. Its an easy fix, just ridiculously overpriced

    True Net Income

Ok...totally useless to you as it was in a $1600 natural gas van at $1.00 a gallon...81 cents on the dollar to me. After fuel, insurance, and repairs The sprinter I've had since last April...worse than 55c but it was a project van, put more than the $2900 cost into repairs and safety and diesel...

Just ignore us. With the exception of OVM anything US we do has to involve crossing the border, so it's not really the same

Yes. That happens to be the rate. Home cleaning unless something juicy pops, bills be damned (Went OoS at 7am but he can't resist calling me on a good rate)

So a state (or province) designated plate determines whether the exact same van has to enter the scales or not. Nice

    EOBR's

So..as an independent what do I do? A quick search states the fmcsa is aware of no standalone units that are not part of a freight system...buy a qualcomm just for me and pay 40 a month?

Well Ontario plates don't say commercial...they have different coloured lettering...but you can't escape that plate type registering over 6000...i doubt the handy "used primarily for personal transportation" sticker would be believable Nice how informative the signs are..."ALL TRUCKS MUST...
