    Ways you are cutting back to save $$$

    Cheri you really came up with a good list. We are eating more often in the truck and that really saves us a bundle. We are also more aware of out dead heading to go shopping, see things, dead head home, and also to dead head to a different express center. Our largest expense is our fuel and...

    ATA Truck Driving Championships

    Bob and I went to the skills challenge last year to have fun which we did! The exciting part was how well we placed. It was nice taking the test in our own truck as we know what to look for in the mirrors. A skills challenge would be a lot of fun to have at the Expo as long as it was looked...

    Important Ruling on In Cab Laptops pending

    We found just the opposite of Phil and Diane on why we enjoy our GPS so much. We first tried just the map and writing the route on a piece of paper. Works great till you have a detour. I am more timid then Bob while going through large cities and when we first started the fear I felt was very...

    Atlas Shrugged by Ann Rand Everytime I see someone post that something has to be done about the fuel prices, the hours of service, or our way of life I think of that book and my blood runs cold. Anyone that thinks we need more government control needs to listen to that book

    In need of some guidance

    Send a message to Cheri she is a solo driver that participates in the forums. Not many companies do well with solos and most owner operators want teams. Do not give up though if this is something you really want to do. Keep asking questions, learning and preparing for this new way of living...

    I was listening to this arguement on the radio and this ruling could sure affect a lot of people using their computer for a GPS system. We have seen people and know of people who watch movies going down the road really a bad practice, listen to a book while driving!

    Another Freightliner horror story

    Yes we are serious about the 14 mpg very serious. The DD13 is not in production yet but Bob spent some time with the Detroit Diesel fuel engineer while attending MATS this year. Another Freightliner horror story

    Well in defense of the M2 and their owners you buy what you can afford and make due the best you can. We are lucky that Bob is a mechanic and can work on most things him but that air conditioner has driven us nuts. We did our homework and we talked to many dealers before we bought our truck...

    I have also noticed redytrk that ITUNES books cost more than audible.com books. I share an account with my daughter which is a great cost savings. We subscribe at a higher level to get more free books. She pays one month and I pay the next and we can share whatever books the other orders. I...

    Planet Walker sounds like a very interesting book to read. Do you have that in audio or hardback? Has anyone read any of the books by Larry Winget? He is an in your face type of inspirational writer and speaker. Love all of his books and someday hope to attend one of his speaking engagements.

    &$#^&&* Freightliner

    Boy that is my thoughts on Freightliner dealerships also. Our last fix on the road we had done at a Peterbilt that worked on Cat Motors. We were pleasantly surprised at how quick the work was done, and how well we were treated. Was a very nice change. I hope this time you will get it fixed...
