    Hey thanks for the chuckle.

    Sleeping in the top bunk

The thread is about the fact there is no law that says we cannot sleep in the top bunk while going down the road. To sleep in the top bunk without restraints would be ludicrous as the movement is amplified.

    Expediters Going Hungry, For Real

Cheri I agree 100% with you. Expediting in my opinion is to erratic to have a family life with kids. I wanted to drive a truck from the time Bob started as a diesel mechanic and am I glad I waited till the time was right. I loved every minute I was able to spend with our girls while they...

Should I get C and D class truck

Since you said you are starting out new I am going to assume you will be in Surface. What we have seen is that a C unit does not work well in Surface as they get to many B load offers. You are looking at a nice truck and a nice payment I would assume and B loads will not make that kind of...

    It would be great IF:

Ways that I have used to help us as a surface truck with DoD qualifications is that I use Streets and Trips and mark the places in the United States that we pickup loads and where we deliver. Experience or a mentor teaches you where to sit and where not to sit to wait for a load. We delivered...

    Requirements for Fed Ex CC

Greg I disagree somewhat. I see it that we have to have our core customers and yep they are discount customers. We need to service these customers as well as the customer that calls up on the phone is a panic and does have the discounted rate. I am talking Surface here not T-Val or...

    Requirements for Fed Ex CC

I have not talked to any FCC drivers who want to see FCC go to a flat rate as Panther has. While we might get irritated at the low offers we sure the heck get excited about the high offers and those are not usually discussed on an open forum. Bring up flat rate even to the most irritated...

    Caffee's Cascadia

Nope the Caffcadia is running around Texas right now enjoying the sun and wishing the wind would quit blowing. I fought a head wind all morning and my dash readout for fuel showed this. So far only good on the truck with a few hiccups. Learning to back the Ultra Shift is interesting. I...

    Requirements for Fed Ex CC

I have been wondering about some of the posts on this thread some by drivers with FedEx Custom Critical and some that are not with FedEx Custom Critical. We have been here over six years and the most loads we have turned down in one day was 14 and most of those were due to excessive dead head...

    Requirements for Fed Ex CC

This is one of the hardest questions to answer in Expediting as if I can drive 30 miles in a week and clear $3000.00 I am fine with that. In Expediting we need a hobby to keep our minds working while sitting as well as driving. I would talk to a recruiter about the requirements as they...

    Regrooving Tires

I have to wonder if re-grooving commercial tires would lead to them breaking down or wearing down faster? We have toured a bandag facility in Saint Louis and one of the items that was discussed was how much it costs the company to have a tire returned. We had our lift axle tires retreaded and...

    RIP, little buddy

Cheri I was very saddened to hear of your loss. We have just went through this and our hearts are still very heavy. A truck pet is a very special friend indeed and their passing is a huge chunk out of your life and out of the truck.

    Caffee's Cascadia

The decision on the front it was made before we ordered the truck on our own research Phil. Bob made the decision based on his background as a mechanic. The more moving parts you have the more you have to maintain. For example on our old truck we had it aligned soon after we bought it, our...

    Sleeping in the top bunk

Old wives tail.... There are not any rules saying that we cannot sleep in the top bunk going down the road. Proper restraints are needed in the bottom bunk as well as the top bunk for safety reasons.

We have a 13600 spring set under our front end to also help in the ride department, the air ride fronts, from what we have heard, have some issues with keeping alignment true. Our dealer assured us air ride was not the best option for our our specs and application.
