RIP, little buddy

I've only had my dog in the truck on two trips so far, mainly because my wife rode along as well. He just turned 4, so I hear where you're coming from about not being ready to lose a pet. He was my wife's companion at home when I was still driving. Now that I am dispatching full-time, he runs around my feet during the day. He's my baby girl's best friend. She called out his name even before she said "mommy" or "daddy." She will never know a life without him until he's gone.

Cheri I was very saddened to hear of your loss. We have just went through this and our hearts are still very heavy.

A truck pet is a very special friend indeed and their passing is a huge chunk out of your life and out of the truck.

Cheri - sorry to hear about your loss. It's a sad time when something like that happens, especially when it drops in out of the blue. Granted, you little buddy can't be replaced since each canine companion is always unique. But keep in mind that there's another one out there waiting to dedicate his/her life exclusively to you whenever you're ready.

Joining with the others I am sorry for your loss.
I promised myself not to get close to another dog, low and behold I don't know what I would do w/o Gator.

Condolences on your loss. It can't be easy. Hopefully there is some comfort in knowing it was quick and without drawn out pain. Good luck on your new project.

Not to hijack this thread and our memory of Kenzy, but also wanted to express my sincere condolences for the loss of Molly as well. Even when they're old in dog years and not in the best of health, it is so hard to lose a beloved pet. Many EO members, myself included, feel like we came to know Molly and Kenzy too, through your and Cheri's posts.

Cheri, really sorry for your loss. This may sound cold, but, the bad thing about owning a pet,in most cases we will all out live our four legged friends.I think tyhe only chance you have top go before your pet,is a parrot,I think they might out live us.Over the years,I've lost a few dogs, and because of that,I guess Ive become cold hearted, when it comes to death of animals. It would take all day to talk about the animals that I loved and they died. From horses to dogs,it never gets easy.

My cat Audrey is 15. Eyes are getting cloudy, she's mellowed, I know the day is nearer than I would like. My other cat Lydia is 10 and had a hard abused life her first 2, I don't know what type of long term effects that may have had on her and shorten her life as a result. My third cat, Lucille, is 5 years old and if she doesn't get her chubby black behind off the credenza NOW, she's got less than 3 minutes.

Knowing they will go is something we know and accept but still hurts. When they go suddenly and young, it's a blindsiding that takes your breath away.
