What is the strangest load that you did as an expediter?

12 shopping carts to a new Walgreens just outside of Nashville. 1,000 mile run. 2 lb. box of screws from LA to a nuclear powerplant 150 miles up the road...hello...hardware store, walmart??? 36 door frames.

    Stuck in deadend Express Center

It does sound like their dispatch is taking advantage of a new team. Unfortunately it tends to sour new people in this business. Listen to the people on here, most are trying to get you started on the right track. I've never heard of that long of a DH with out a load attatched to it. But, in...

What R U Doing For Easter?

We are going to try and get home for Easter this year. I have the wonderful task of hiding all of the eggs again this year, so I need to see if we can get there ontime. Most of my wife's siblings and their siblings live next door to us, so everyone comes over for dinner and ofcourse Easter Egg...

    Working to hard

The thread started off strong, took a turn for the worse, a cat fight ensued, apologies, then.... This has been a terrible winter, but i guess if i took every load that Panther offered, it might have been different. Who knows. We all run our businesses very differently, can't we just leave it...

How far away from the truckstop on Orange Blossom trail would you say those restaurants are?

    Expedite Solutions

If you want my experience with ES, then pm me. I think anyone is better off, getting their license on their own. It is way cheaper, and besides, you have to give ES a year of your life. If you get the licenses on your own, you can have the choice of who you want to work for. I figure that...

    Some good news about Panther

I too have better experiences from home now. We live nowhere near the frieght lanes and before, we would have to go to Tulsa or down to West Mephis to get on a board and get loaded. Since the new system has gone into effect, we can now sit at home and get loaded. Granted, we have to dh at...

    Constant Sitting.

When we are in Atlanta we always sit at the Pilot in Newnan. I85 exit 41. It is the closest that we get to downtown Atlanta. I know that they shut down the TA on I285. We used to sit at the J in Jackson, then we found the Pilot in Newnan. I don't care for the new board system either.

    Great Places To Eat!!!

We all know that eating in a truckstop gets tiresome over time and we find the need to find "something else". If you wouldn't mind sharing the best places to eat at, where they are, is there truck parking, and what is on the menu, that would be great. In almost two years of expediting we had...

    how bad is this ??????

I'm sorry, I didn't read the post correctly. 1.16 including FS??? YIKES. Exactly. Need more info to compute....

    Iv'e had it

We've actually had a better Jan/Feb this year then we had last year. Sittin' is part of the game, that is why some us can hack this job and a lot of us can't. We just had a load to Stockton, CA cancel on us Monday and now we are back in snow country and hating it, :( but...it comes with the job.

    Liftgate question.

I like having a lift-gate. We get a lot of work that we would otherwise not get, by having the lift-gate. But I like that back-porch idea as well :)

    how bad is this ??????

Some companies only pay 1.12/loaded mile. It really depends on the contract you sign with your carrier. It seems like most carrier pay 1.12-1.20/ mile on a straight truck that doesn't have a lift-gate or reefer (just a regular box truck). So i would think that 1.16/mile plus FS is average.

    Where did it go?

Wow...a post about ES. I fully understand why the post was deleted. I have my own oppinions about ES, if you want to hear them then you can PM me. TNT is one of the only couples that I know personally that have had no ill will toward said company. I have a lot of ill will toward them. I...

    help from the audience plz

We have never had a problem with El Paso. Expediting is what it is and being in the right place at the right time helps. Luck of the draw. That said...El Paso is not a good board to be on. We have just been lucky (knock on wood) with it so far. Heck, the first time we went to the LA board...

    Team Miles?

Lucky dogs...we would have had a good run to Sacremento....but it canceled twice. Once on friday, because of a mix-up, then again on Monday, because the shipper didn't think we would make it on time. They were giving us 53 hours to get to Stockton from Indy! We could walk there in 53...

Using Freight Brokers and UShip for back loads.

Panther says to give it 24 hours, but really, it has a lot to do with where you are at, and how good or terrible the freight is there.

We were able to take a 4 lb. box 60 miles because there wasn't any vans around!
