When we are in Atlanta we always sit at the Pilot in Newnan. I85 exit 41. It is the closest that we get to downtown Atlanta. I know that they shut down the TA on I285. We used to sit at the J in Jackson, then we found the Pilot in Newnan. I don't care for the new board system either.

We've actually had a better Jan/Feb this year then we had last year. Sittin' is part of the game, that is why some us can hack this job and a lot of us can't. We just had a load to Stockton, CA cancel on us Monday and now we are back in snow country and hating it, :( but...it comes with the job.

I like having a lift-gate. We get a lot of work that we would otherwise not get, by having the lift-gate. But I like that back-porch idea as well :)

Some companies only pay 1.12/loaded mile. It really depends on the contract you sign with your carrier. It seems like most carrier pay 1.12-1.20/ mile on a straight truck that doesn't have a lift-gate or reefer (just a regular box truck). So i would think that 1.16/mile plus FS is average.

We have never had a problem with El Paso. Expediting is what it is and being in the right place at the right time helps. Luck of the draw. That said...El Paso is not a good board to be on. We have just been lucky (knock on wood) with it so far. Heck, the first time we went to the LA board...

Panther says to give it 24 hours, but really, it has a lot to do with where you are at, and how good or terrible the freight is there.
