Constant Sitting.

I know the new board positioning thing is supposed to help us drivers, but it hasn't helped me one bit. I know Atlanta is a board and I am currently at the J off of I 75 exit 201. I macro 32'd but not on the Atlanta board here. I used to be when I sat here. Here's my beef: I'm sorry Panther but I "DO NOT WANT TO RISK MY LIFE OR MY BUISNESS" to move to downtown Atlanta and sit. That is not a safe area to be in. If anyone knows of an area to sit right by downtown that is on the atlanta board please pm me or respond to this post. I wish it went back to the old system. All this sitting is getting ridiculous. 3 load offers in the last week and a half.

When we are in Atlanta we always sit at the Pilot in Newnan. I85 exit 41. It is the closest that we get to downtown Atlanta. I know that they shut down the TA on I285. We used to sit at the J in Jackson, then we found the Pilot in Newnan. I don't care for the new board system either.

The main thing is trying to find a spot that's "Cargo Van Friendly". I seen that there is a Pilot also on 285 on Bouldercrest Rd. has a Wendy's but not sure if it has parking for a van. I've parked in the semi area b4 and they tend to get po'd for a van parking there and I definitely don't feel in the mood to deal w/ them.

Try the Walmart off of I-85 @ exit 64 Union City. We're in a straight truck and sit there all the time. Lots of eateries around also.

And while you're at the J, be sure and try Buckner's Restaurant down the road, great home cooked food.

Please don't park a van in the truck lot. It's tough enough finding a spot sometimes without that. In a van, I wouldn't even use a truckstop. I'd find a Walmart, a Kroger, a Home Depot or other big box store and park there within walking distance of several eateries.

OMG, constant sitting? Seems to me when "its too cold to go there", or, (sniff) I can't find a parking place (for a cargo van) to be on a viable board, then maybe sitting is something you may wanna get used to.

Betcha I can ride a mile (or less) with you, in a safe area of Atlanta, and show you a minimum of ten places to park that would be fine. Just look around.

When you are in a van there are lots of places to park. In our straight truck we
search out Malls, Walmarts, Home Depots, etc. Truck stops are not the only place to park especially in a van.

Actually there is an excellent place to stay to be on that board, Palm exit on 805, go east then turn right onto Dennery rd, then go sit between the Theater and Walmart. ;)

You are sure to get a load out of Atlanta sitting there.

Don't go to the Pilot on 285, it is not safe, day or night. We sat there once and will never do it again. As far as the other Pilot, we can not say what type of area that is, never been there but then again, we do all our business at the J's: fueling, shower's, discount on meals and WiFi. So that is where we go(the J's) when we are waiting for freight. Our safety and comfort comes first.

Yep, I didn't sit there. Found that to be a real bad area. Went to the J in Blacksburg, SC didn't bother with the Atlanta board. Thanks for the help tho I'll remember it next time I go down there. Hope I get something here as I have had my first out since Friday.

Wow!

Blacksburg is a long haul from Atlanta.

There is a fairly new Flying J off I-85 at Exit 147 in Commerce, GA. I don't know how that would work with your Panther Board system.

I have parked there without any difficulties. It is a smaller "J", but it is well managed.
