    2006 GM diesel vans--12,300-lb GVWR--logbook?!?!

GVWR--logbook?!?! That's been the great debate, GVW, CDL requirement, & Logbooks. I've asked mulitple MI diesel bears about this. One says if you don't need a CDL to drive it, you don't need a log book. The other says if it's over 10,001 lbs, then you need a log book. The expedite company I'm...

Truck insurance - all size units

    Log Books

Here is a link to a log book program that I use for adding up hours on my paper logs. If you have a laptop and printer, some companies will allow you to send them in instead of hand drawn logs. http://www.driversdailylog.com/

    Weigh station fun..

RE: Weigh station fun & diesel bears When I roll thru a scale empty, I always get on the C.B. and say "wonder if I'll get a ticket for being under wieght since I'm empty?" And WI D.O.T. says a truck REALLY can be too light?! Me and my big mouth! Then again, I went by a Diesel bear one day...

    drivers daily log

I still use paper logs, but have a laptop with DDL loaded to do the math for me. The carrier I run for will accept DDL printed logs should I decide to get a printer for the truck. I could print them at home, but law requires that we be able to generate a print out on demand for DOT inspections...

    sprinter cube vans

    >The Sprinters are not being shipped as cutaways yet., that >would allow pass through to cargo box. Not a big deal to >have it done ...but why do it? I'd like to put a bunk area in the box like people are currently doing with regular vans. My thought is with the larger cargo box, I could...

    laptop and gps

I used an IBM thinkpad for several years until the power supply finally stopped supplying power a few months ago. I replaced it with a Dell Inspiron 9100. I spent extra $$$ on the laptop so I could replace my home computer as well. I use a very old version of Delorme Street Atlas. I REALLY need...

    sprinter cube vans

My tentative plans are to spec a new sprinter 3500 cab/chassis & have a 14' cargo box installed. So far, I have not been able to find out if the sprinter cab/chassis allows for pass-thru into the box. One dealership had photos of sprinter cube vans, and those particular units where not pass...

    financial projections

Thanks for the financial figures! I don't have a problem working weekends, & am attempting to get my fleet manager to get me into a condo, as I want to stay out at least 2 weeks at a time now. I could stay out in this mid-roof, but if I could get a condo, then it would be much nicer. When I...

I'm hoping ya'll might be able to help me with my financial projections spreadsheet. I've decided to sign on with Landstar Express when they will accept a sprinter cube van. My challenge is attempting to crunch numbers because of the many variables in pay for loads. Does anyone have...
