    Fuel Stats Cargo Van

I also use the scan gauge but the problem is fuel mileage with a diesel. For some reason it doesn't keep good miles but keep all the other data. I would also like to be able to clear the scan gauge after I use it but you can't on this model.

    Fuel Stats Cargo Van

I am debating on my new truck. We are specking now about the 6spd w/342 gear and 6.0 engine. Would like to talk to someone also about that. I have another truck with a 4.8 and 6spd w/342 gear, it has plenty of power but the thing down shifts whenever you go over a hill. I am going to have...

Your right on the gas verses diesel. I am also a diesel guy but looking at all aspects, it looks like a 6.0 in my new one. As far as the guy getting 18mpg with E85, I would have to see it to believe it. But all's fair in love and war.:D:D

Charging my Aux batteries. What am I doing wrong?

When I said 4 ga wasn't enough I may have mis-spoken. 4ga is enough but when you get further away from the charging source with a normal alternator like a 100amp or so you need to be able to send the charge easier with less restriction. When your battery's are pulled down as you suggested it...

Charging my Aux batteries. What am I doing wrong?

Turtle has a post with pictures of his install, look for that. One main thing I see wrong is the 4 ga wire. Your current is restricted and won't flow freely. You should have 1ga minimum, but better 1 o/t. Remember the path of least resistance. Check your volt meter and see what your amp...

Good deal, that Duramax is a good engine and the Allison is also good. Glad you like it.

    anyone familiar with this generator

I hope you vent your van using the big buddy. Yes they are good and warm but they use a lot of O2's. Be careful.

    anyone familiar with this generator

Do you know why Honda gets such good marks? It's the noise level that brings the review numbers so high. They are quieter. If you research Consumer reports that's all they talk about when rating.

    I'm no mechanic

Great stuff good job. I don't have a Sprinter but I read a thing about changing the EGR to another type that lasts longer and you can clean it easier, but don't remember where.

    anyone familiar with this generator

I'm 63 and made up my mind that I'm going to be comfortable even it it means to much junk in the truck. I'm old and crotchety (hmmmm) and need my rest. But I do like the sound of that generator. I have been using 4-6volt deep cycle battery's and a splitter, works well until it get below zero...

    Van or S/T?

I just saw the water hose you were talking about. I'll have to check that out. That is a good idea, especially since I have one. It was given to me by a friend in the appliance business. Are you in a regular van or a Sprinter?

    Van or S/T?

I have a roll around a/c in my old shop, the only problem is the water. I will have to find out how big it is. It does cool though. That bubble wrap does it help? I am thinking just to go ahead and have it sprayed. Can get it done in Ft. Wayne, In for about $400. It's 1 inch thick all the...

    Van or S/T?

You don't have any pictures of the vented unit do you? I have seen some vans with those vents but did not know what they were to. I thought they were vents for heating units. I have seen the door window thing as well. I will probably have to spray foam insulate as well, the fiberglass...

    Van or S/T?

The key word I think is Motorhome. They build those chassis for that industry. You see Swifty Swift loaded with them all the time.
