    Chain,Chain,Chain..

Neon paint that's a great idea. Could have used that a few times. And yes a good pair of Carhart insulated coveralls. I used to drive with them on and the tops pulled down around my waist. When running the passes, you chain up going up and pull chains when you get down. I've gone through...

    Chain,Chain,Chain..

I spent 10 years chaining up in the Northwest mountains nightly sometimes several times a night while pulling joints, 2-3 trailers. 1.) Don't drive on dry pavement for extended periods, like more than a mile. 2.) Don't exceed 30mph. Best at about 25, chains last longer. 3.) Don't buy...

    Jacking truck prices up.

There is a shortage of used equipment in certain classes. Some models because they last longer and manufacturers are making less of that model. The expedited market for trucks is to small to make a difference in shortages or pricing. I might ad. Everything in the free market economy is...

    Need more truck advice.

As with Moot I also do t he lifetime thing with wires and everyother part I can do it with. They used to do it with brakes but they stopped that ( at least here they did). As far as gears whenever you buy aftermarket kits for GM you will have a noise issue. The noise is nothing more than...

Need help with rear end issue.

I ment to say if it's on a rack put it in drive and run it. It will circulate with the gear spinning. Hopefully it's not that low.

Need help with rear end issue.

Filling a Chevy to overflow does not fill it after overhauling. You have to turn the wheels several times and get the fluid out to the axles then top it off. It's best to run it around the block come back then top it off. A lot of gearing gets lost when people don't do that.

    Cube Van MPG

You talked of a 3.55 the problem is there is only 3.73 or 4.10 available for the size truck. You might get an after market but I don't think so. Besides thats to high and you will be fighting wind problems against horsepower and transmission gearing then if your going to put the money in go...

    Cube Van MPG

First of all if you have a cube van then your dragging a 4.10 axle. Wind drag and low gear makes for terrible fuel mileage. The 6.0's best RPM for economy is 1500 rpm. If your running about 65 with a 4.10 your rpms are running above 2300 making for terrible mileage. Along with the extra...

Need help with rear end issue.

Something caught my eye. You said it made no noise before he changed the fluid. Did he fill it up?? Are you sure he put enough back in??

Need help with rear end issue.

Sounds like you got a bearing hot when your fluid got low. Might have gotten a little hot. Give it a couple thousand miles and see if there is any change in noise or play. If none don't worry about it.

    Beware of MHC Kenworth Dallas

Sounds to me like it's your first truck maybe? Never ever trust a truck dealer let alone the salesman. Always wave the money under their nose then when you get what you wanted let them have it and not before.;)

    Cab curtains for vans

It's alittle work but I go to a yarn store and buy black cloth. I had my neighbor sew a eye or seam across the top and put a (not sure what you call it) like a rubber band with 4 hooks. each end and one for each visor. No light. I gave two of them to my drivers and I kept one. Covers the...

    Vans chaining up...

Are they safe?? Must be Wa, Or, Id are putting them on school buses. They are legal in all states. They are expensive $2200 for a van because of adding a compressor and tank. But like Greg said it's easy to throw chains if you know how to do it. Cost vs. time and how often you do it.

Help with finding the wight truck

As was stated earlier about the medium duty engines. Usually 400,000 and your looking for engine work so like stated before your better off with a class 8. Yes right now Detroits are pretty much the best if you don't do engine work yourself. Cummins ISX is a good engine. Now as far as...
