Time to go home

At this time we have not seen our house for two months and we have put 28,402 miles on our truck. We have been busy and running well so the time has sailed by. It is funny we do not think about the house or even going home and all of the sudden it hits us, it is time.

We are very lucky as our daughter lives at our house, she takes care of our home, the yard, our mail, and sets up appointments for us.   Perfect arraignment, as we have peace of mind as we do not get home often and she has the house to herself.   Another great thing about all of this is Nicki and I enjoy each others company and the house has always been our house with her having as much say in what goes on as we do.

As our thoughts turn towards home we start lining up things we need to get done.   We always put the truck in the shop when at home for routine maintenance and for extras we want done.   We have the truck scheduled to get another fuel tank that will be put on by Craftsman, which will fuel the generator.   This fuel tank will only be plumbed to the generator and we will use off road fuel in this tank.   We will than have an accurate reading on what the DD13 is getting for fuel mileage.

Bob and I building fence... I run the tractor Bob works

Bob will schedule a concrete truck to come and pour a concrete pad outside of the shop for the truck to sit on and this will be done while we are home.   We have started building fence around our ten acres and we will spend at least one day on this project.

Mule Jumping

We leave time for fun stuff away from the truck and away from the business.   We hope to hold off going home  until the Lincoln County Fair, which is a spectacular event and something we enjoy attending.   Bob enjoys the tractor pulls and I enjoy the mule jumping.    We both enjoy watching the Dock Dogs events.

It is hard to believe we have been out as long as we have and put this many miles on our “new” truck.   It has been a great time learning the Cascadia as well seeing the country in the spring.
