Going Broke…
Each business plan in unique and so are each of our break even points. We have been told we haul cheap freight and we have been told we are going broke. Oh dear Oh My well someone needs to inform our bank account that this is happening as our bank account does not appear to be going broke.
We have been doing this long enough we have our own historical figures to work from. I use those figures to determine what we need per mile to run our truck and what we need per day to stay out on the road. Neither of us like being in debt and we will curtail some of our activities until we can pay this truck off.
Through Expediting we purchased our first truck and were able to pay it off in two years. Our self-funded retirement funds are growing and we provide our own health insurance. We purchased our house, shop and ten acres and we have purchased another new truck. We were able to do this when borrowing money was tight,
Through Expediting we have been able to attend truck shows each year, attend workshops, and participate in fun events held around the country. As I like to say we have time to stop and smell the roses while still maintaining our income.
Through Expediting we have grown and blossomed from self-conscious bashful people to people who are self assured. We were perfectly content to stay in the corner and cheer our kids on at the various events they attended. We are now confident enough to blog, stand up in front of groups and talk, and even help other people to get into this business.
We have a choice we can either listen to the dooms day people or we can look at our own personal bank accounts and spread sheets. We do not consider this a get rich quick business. We found that expediting fulfills our needs and at the same time gives us the excitement and variety we want to make getting up each day exciting.
