10.63 mile per gallon reading on the dash.

I started the day driving on four lane back roads with a lot of small towns.   My 65 mph was well below the posted speed of 70.   The first part of my trip was a little disconcerting, as I did not use cruise due to traffic.   It was difficult for me to keep the truck up to 65 mph as it felt as if the scenery was zipping by.

The Cascadia handled the speed with no problems and drove just fine and in a few miles I did not feel as though I was at a race.   I found it odd to every once in awhile step out to pass a car, normally I am the one being passed.

I normally enjoy the back roads as I am a fan of small towns, but in a short period of time the constant slowing down for the cities frustrated me.   After a couple hundred miles I was ready to see the interstate in the horizon.   I did not have far to go to reach our destination and I was soon in Dallas/Fort Worth traffic.

Once we made our delivery Bob drove to our consignee to pick up our next load.   This load was heavier and we lowered our pusher axle and while he had all interstate the fuel mileage only climbed to 10.63 to end the day.

The 10.63 in not as high as we normally see our fuel mileage I am going to credit much of my back roads driving to this low number.

Tomorrow is another day and I hope to see the number get back up into the 11’s where it belongs.

Henry Albert day turned out with much better numbers then us at his 60 mph.  His Cascadia's dash was showing better number then us for several hours during the day.  Read more on his blog:
