When we started looking at the motors we need one that will go the distance but we do not need one as big as our class 8 brothers.   It is a little bit like the three little bears, this porridge is to hot, this porridge is to cold this porridge is just right.   It is very challenging when we are in a fringe market to get exactly what we want.   We do not need an engine built to haul a lot of weight as we very seldom are heavy, we do need a motor that can go the miles as we do run the heck out of the truck.   While there are ones that work there is always a compromise.   We are looking at the DD13 which we feels fits us the closest to what we need.   This motor is the smallest that Detroit makes, but it still is bigger then what we really need.   The motor is very capable of going the miles that we want it to.   We are working at getting our truck to just the right temperature and this motor is the closest we have found.
