Batteries
We all need them in our trucks. Most of us use series 31 batteries. So, which brand you use varies depending on each person’s preference.
Our configuration in our truck is we have three Alliance and one Maxwell ultracapacitors battery. We replace the Alliance batteries about every eighteen to twenty-four months. The Maxwell battery is used to get the truck started if the three other batteries are run down. The Maxwell will pull all of what is left in the three other batteries for one start. This system has saved us a jump start two times since we have had our current truck.
You can read more on the Maxwell system here: maxwell ultracapacitors system
Our research has found many manufactures of the series 31 battery. It was a lot more than we thought. Price range really varied depending on the brand of battery. Just for an example we found prices from $190.00 to $900.00 for each battery. That is quite the difference in price. Our suggestion is if you are looking to replace your batteries do your research of which one best fits your operation.
Found a article that was the five best series 31 batteries that were on the market the review was from early 2022. It listed pros and cons for each of the five batteries in the review. To read it find it here: Battery Savvy Review
This review was from around that same time as the one above and covers more batteries. It reviews ten batteries. Here is the link: Battery Group Expert
This review is similar to the one just above but does give a little more information. Read it here: West Virginia DOT Review
After reading through the these reviews when we need to replace the current batteries we might try a different battery. If we can spend the same amount we spend and get more time out of the new ones than it might be worth it.
