Michigan is a beautiful state but it has been mismanaged and has been run into the ground by welfare programs and handouts. I would like to move to MI because it has a lot of potential to become great.

ssshhh don't tell OVM this,he already bleed Ontario dry, is currently working on Texas, Michigan might be his next target :p

I'm not the one who derailed this thread.

Yes, you did: post 17.

You'd have to take that up with Greg.

I already asked for verification of Greg's statement, and will wait for his response before continuing any further on the subject of union members. But you couldn't refrain from the opening to rant about the unions, whether it's true or false, and that's what derailed the thread, not Greg's comment.
Lisa responded to your ignorant [because YOU have no firsthand knowledge] comments, and again, [as when I replied with firsthand knowledge on Swift's training methods] you switched the attack to the person. When the person continued to refute your claims with facts, you told her to shut up - as in "stay on topic".

BTW..I would be interested to know what source he got his information from.

Wrong, This thread was derailed long before post 17 via Greg's detour down UAW Lane.

If calling one's comments ignorant isn't a personal attack, I don't know what is.

Speaking of non-responses. I love the dodge you pulled a while back regarding the discussion of whether women deserve equal rights if they don't have to register for the draft. In case you're wondering where I stand on that, the answer is a resounding NO.
I had to bring that up because you're the first to gripe when others don't respond to questions.

Hey my SD business brings in out of state money in the form of support for local merchants and the payment of state and local taxes...of which I pay local business tax on such and provide services vital to the areas farmers....:).

Actually, if you're 31 like you said you are in a previous post, you're technically a member of Generation Y which spans from 1979 through, I believe 1999. Those born in 2000 or later are part of what's called the millennial generation.

This is from Wikipedia and if you look it up you will find others that say that Generation X runs into the 80's.

Generation X, commonly abbreviated to Gen X, is the generation born after the Western post–World War II baby boom ended. [1] While there is no universally agreed upon time frame, [2] the term generally includes people born in the 1960s through the late '70s, sometimes as late as the early '80s, usually no later than 1981 or 1982. Some cite that Generation X began with people born as early as 1960.

No, actually, the most unassuming generation, IMO happens to be the WWII generation- Those who lived through the Great Depression and the 2nd World War. IMO, this pervasive entitlement mentality started with the Baby Boom Generation and has gotten worse with each generation thereafter.

I think that those who lived through the Great Depression and WWII are the greatest generation, unfortunately they are responsible for raising those from the baby boom. I see the know it all mentality coming from those in their 40-60's because they believe they have learned everything already or a lot are scared they might look wrong or stupid because of the changing world so they declare themselves an expert on everything.

This is an article that talks about Generation Y workers and the people that researched it don't think they are the know it all type either.

This isn't a problem unique to Michigan or any state in particular. This is very much a nationwide problem.

It is not just a MI problem, I think it is an environmental problem as I stated before.

Actually, your USA Today source mentions GEN Y as being 1977 forward, Two years earlier than I thought it was....I often hear Gen X referred to as 1965 through 1978/79....I guess there's no concrete definition.

If you read the Wikipedia page under the Origin tab they say there is no set date and that it can vary 3 to 5 years or more depending on who you ask.

Wrong, This thread was derailed long before post 17 via Greg's detour down UAW Lane.

It wasn't hijacked by an unrelated [or semi related] argument between two members until post 17, when your comments triggered a reaction from someone who knows more about that subject than you do.

If calling one's comments ignorant isn't a personal attack, I don't know what is.

It's obvious that you don't know what one is: look up ignorant and be enlightened. A personal attack is a comment such as "You don't have a clue" "You don't know what you're talking about" "You have no say in this discussion"
All those were typed by you, to someone who has personal firsthand knowledge of the subject that doesn't agree with your hypothetical opinions - that's a personal attack, in lieu of a topical response.

Yet another diversionary tactic: if you have something else to say on that subject, this isn't the place for it.

Listen, it is obvious from your style of writing that you're not half as smart as you lead others to think you are.. Do me a favor and put me on ignore and don't respond to another comment of mine.

You get away with attacking others yet you jump on others for commiting the same offenses. Again, your gender doesn't warrant the same kid glove treatment from me that others give to you. I don't condone affirmative action.

This was back on track till post 58...when "someone" decided to take up the "cause" for someone else.....

I'll not let this turn into a mudslinging contest...

The End.........don't like it? Take it up with Management...
