You're making a very strong case for the term "homophibia".

Actually the terms "human being", "baby", and "born" are terms that have been defined exactly as they currently are for a really long time, far longer than Congress has existed. Nothing has been redefined. But there are people trying to redefine them so as to fit their own religious morals. The history of abortion is one you should look into, as well as when the religious folks got involved in trying to force their views on the matter.

I hadn't brought up the issue of gotry and homophobia, a concept invented to legitimize gotry.
As for the terms, we're fought that battle before. The end of it was when I said a fetus is a baby at a specified stage of development, and you said it wasn't. So I posted a dictionary definition, two of which agreed with me. You replied that it was probably one of those wiki-dictionaries that anyone could edit, but it wasn't; two or three of the citations were well-known and respected dictionaries. I don't remember if I have that app on my phone or not. I had a different phone back then.

You're demonstrating that you know less about contemporary religion than you let on. I suggest you look into R.C. Sproul, one of (just one of) the scholarly theologians that addresses questions ontologically.

I'm very familiar with Dr. Sproul. His addressing of questions, while often done ontologically (Thomism) is still primarily, if not solely, for the purpose of helping Christians understand why they believe certain things from a philosophical standpoint. His means have a goal in mind, rather than being an objective, unimpassioned critical view on the subject. He is a proponent and practitioner of absolute doctrinal biblical innerancy, where the Bible is infallible and contains nothing whatsoever that is not factual, and thus cannot be questioned and answered outside the context of that infallibility. He rejects Presuppositionalism (utterly blind faith that the Christian faith is the only basis for rational thought), but replaces it with Thomism as a way to convince people that they don't have run-of-the-mill pedestrian blind faith, that their blind faith is genuine and rational because it's based in a grounded philosophy. Everything he says and does is within that context of reformed Christianity (Calvinism).

It brings up the question, though, of why asjssl is upset...had his/her mother decided to abort for whatever reason, would it have been--according to asjssl--just a nonviable tissue mass? Or as OVM says, like killing a fish or something with fewer signs of life than mold on a crust of bread? So what's the problem here? Seems like there's some major hypocrisy going on.

Frankly, it's one that is so ingrained in American pop culture that few people will not understand the reference. I fully understand why a Brit and a Canadian, and those who spent most of the 70s at the disco on Saturday nights, might not get it.

You go a bit farther than he does. I believe he agrees with me, that everything in the Bible that's INTENDED to be literal is literal and true. The Bible, in addition to being scripture, is also literature, and as such, it makes use of literary devices such as metaphor, hyperbole, poetry, parable, various figures of speech, etc.

Reminds me of a time many years ago, early 80s, when I was talking with a couple friends in social studies class. One of them, Larry, was a black guy. And at this time, white people had finished with disco and were denying we ever had anything to do with it. Good thing people didn't carry around video recorders back then.
Anyway, black people were hanging in there with disco. They weren't ready to turn the page yet. So this other guy says, "Larry, what's up with black guys and disco? Why do you still listen to that?"
And Larry replies, "What do y'all listen to?"
This other guy, we apparently liked the same stuff, so we start tossing out names: Judas Priest, AC/DC, Van Halen..
