Good News for Sedition Hunters; Bad News for Insurrectionists

"House Republicans will no longer blur the faces of Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol rioters in security footage posted online, Speaker Mike Johnson announced Friday."

Yup and Democrats can't blur their fbi agents either.

The special prosecutor was an inferior officer in the executive branch and the AG had oversight over them. But this special counsel answers to nobody.

Sure he does.

The previous special prosecutors investigated the president.

Not always the case.

With this special counsel, the “AG chose” him off the street without confirmation from the senate and he has investigated and is prosecuting the president’s political opponent.

You misspelled "unAmerican criminal" above.

SC Smith previously served in the DOJ (with distinction) ... serving as an assistant U.S. attorney, acting U.S. attorney, and head of the department's Public Integrity Section.

Prior to that he was an assistant DA in the Manhattan DA's office.

Was also a war crimes prosecutor in the Hague ... in contrast to guy he's currently pursuing who pardoned a literal war criminal.

So Biden has the best of both worlds. He has an unconfirmed prosecutor prosecuting his political opponent with no oversight.

Inaccurate.

He does have a degree of independence but is overseen by the AG.

BTW - Don Cheeto™ declared his candidacy on November 15, 2022 ... three days before SC Smith was appointed.

The Don knew what was coming ... ;)

Yet another case of not knowing how the system works.

Sure he does. Then what’s with “it’s out of our hands”?
If it’s not in his hands then it must be totally in someone else’s hands, right?IMG_5779.jpeg

So what? The choice is supposed to be a U.S. attorney within the justice department.
Smith went into the private sector before going the The Hague. And before being chosen as special counsel.

Apparently you have absolutely no clue as to how Special Counsels work.

Suggest you read up on it:

Special counsel

If it’s not in his hands then it must be totally in someone else’s hands, right?

Not necessarily.

Your cite of "Julie Kelly" ( :joycat: ) lacks the full context of what Garland actually said ... so it's pretty much impossible to say for certain what the AG meant exactly.

You could do better - and provide the full context - but my expectations are pretty low that you will - either now or in the future.

One possibility though is that since charges have been brought, it's now in the hands of the court system.

The choice is supposed to be a U.S. attorney within the justice department.

That isn't what is required under the current regulations: Code of Federal Regulations, Title 28, part 600 (28 CFR §600)

28 CFR Part 600 - PART 600—GENERAL POWERS OF SPECIAL COUNSEL

Smith went into the private sector before going the The Hague. And before being chosen as special counsel.

So what ?

:joycat:

Quoting some Goober MAGA Twatwaffle™ as some sort of an "authority" ain't too impressive.

Try harder.
